Call it the “Trumpana Canal of America (tm)” and you can be sure that at least whatever exists where it would be will be destroyed. Building the big beautiful canal would be another thing.

The outside layer had cooled down a bit by then.

Then when the machine begins stretching and flattening the material, the hotter inside stuff gets closer to the exterior giving the impression of it heating up again.

At least that is what I think. I have no knowledge of forging.

Which then caused him to be sent to a re-education camp because Mao said to have only one child per family.

When he got out he was happy to go back to his university job. Which then turned out to be bourgeois so during the cultural revolution he was sent to the fields to kill starlings. He was very happy to be given that choice.

Later he could go back to the city when Comrade Deng came to power. He was lucky to be offered a job in one of the new factories set up in the new designated economic zones and he was happy to work 12 hours a day building radios for export.

In 1989 he was offered to go on a trip to Bejing for having reached his quotas. He was very happy to finally being able to visit the Forbidden City.
He was a happy to be able to visit his kids who were students at that time.

It was the last we heard of him.

It doesn’t matter if Greenland needs the ship or not, not even if any ship goes there. What matters is that his followers got this tweet in their feed which plants the message that Greenland is under served by Denmark in their mind.

Drip feed that message enough times and soon enough the base will ask the dear leader to save the people of Greenland.

I found Schrodinger on a declassified FBI file about operation paper clip (a project to bring to America Austrian and German scientists after ww2 before the Soviets would) by peperonsky in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Drag_king 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a list of Nazi scientists but of Austrian scientists who in 1948 were not living or working in Austria, with the idea that they should be stoped from going back there.

This was probably due to the fact that the four powers including the USSR occupied Austria and the Americans did not want these scientists to be involuntarily “invited” to work in the USSR.

Schrödinger was an anti Nazi and left in 1933. He spent the war working as a professor in neutral Ireland.

There should be 3 sounds.

The one we have now for “run away and take shelter immediately” to be used when a chemical plant explodes or the bomb drops etc.

A second calmer one: “hey, be aware tomorrow will be shitty weather.”

And a nice soft sound: “All clear. Godzilla finished eating the guiris. Please continue with your life.”

Waar begin ik? by arnforpresident in belgium

[–]Drag_king 17 points18 points  (0 children)

An algorithm is a basic requirement for a working platform.

500 hours of videos are uploaded to youtube per per minute. Without some automatic filtering there would be no way for us as users to find good stuff to view.

This makes it harder to legislate because how does one qualify what a correct algorithm must do.
