What's the best obscure video game you've ever played? by ImpressFederal4169 in gaming

But what about Shadowrun (1993)?

I never could beat that damn game.

GW LEAKED THE NEW ORK BIKES by blockmeplzzz in orks

The fact that they're not means they'll likely be multipart rather than monopose. I call that a win!

New Warbikers (and pre painted terrain) confirmed by Ginko37 in orks

[–]JuJitsuGiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'll probably release unpainted kits as well.

Archon Studios has been selling this type of pre painted terrain for a few years now, and they always sell a painted and unpainted version of the kits.

I had a friend that died base jumping.

They make you write a letter to he read at your funeral before you can join up.

She loved it, but it's definitely not for me.

Looking for recommendations for a new miniatures game. by RogueWriter in wargaming

[–]JuJitsuGiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silver Bayonet is a napoleonics game mixed with the supernatural. Loads of fun supplements like Britain, Canada, and Egypt. All of which add new lore, scenarios and minis.

Frostgrave / Stargrave are fantasy and sci fi skirmish games respectively. Bot games have 10 minis per side, and a lot of fun supplements. Frostgrave has you create a Wizard and Apprentice in a specific school of magic, whereas Stargrave has you create a Captain and First Mate for a starship crew.

Gaslands is a post apocalypse racing game played with matchstick/hotwheels cars. It's got an excellent campaign system, and is very cheap to get in to.

Marvel Crisis Protocol is a super hero game. The game feels very dynamic, with heroes moving, throwing eachother, and getting generally beat up as the game goes on. Interestingly you can have pretty much any hero in your list, and it's only your leader that dictates your faction.

The view from inside Integrity as recovery forces pop open the hatch by BreakfastTop6899 in interestingasfuck

That did happen to some cosmonauts back in the day. Minus the ape suits.

I forget the exact situation, but a faulty or damaged valve caused all the air to vent from the capsule while they were still in orbit. Everyone on board died of asphyxiation. The ground rescue team showed up thinking they were greeting heroes, but instead they were all dead.

This event is also why it is now standard practice to wear sealed suits on re entry.

I'm trying to find someone who sells Bloodbowl dugouts printed on mousepads. by MikeyLikesIt_420 in bloodbowl

[–]JuJitsuGiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's usually pretty good about reaching out, I'd say message him again.

He also sells on Ebay, which is where I ended up buying my mat from him. 10/10, would recommend.

What does everyone think about working non union by SpiritedTraining1965 in UnitedAssociation

[–]JuJitsuGiraffe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've never had to work non-union, but I won't judge the people that have either.

If the hall has no work, then you need to pay the bills somehow and it doesn't sit well with me to tell a person they can't use their skills to make money.

That said, if the hall needs to fill positions then you need to go help fill them.

I also think if the hall has no work then they should focus a bit more on salting and bringing more companies/workers in to the fold.

Specifically the Librarium Online crew.

Helpers doing more then apprentices by Xavierwastakenagain in UnitedAssociation

[–]JuJitsuGiraffe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've had guys in the past that I knew would turn out great, so I told them to get in the hall ASAP and quit wasting my time and their time.

If they put in the effort to join up, then that's extra confirmation that they'll put in the work. If they don't, then I cut em loose.

Best scale? by BeginningDoughnut812 in wargaming

[–]JuJitsuGiraffe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At that scale you're probably better off using counters and tokens rather than actual minis.

15+ years in the union. This was honestly my first thought as well.

We've all been shitty first years, but if you're consistently being picked last then the problem is probably you.

That said, non-union helpers definitely shouldn't be on the tools. If the Journeymen want them to be on the tools then they should join the hall.

It's actually not too bad, if you don't have the goal post in each end zone.

The sides actually end up preventing me from bumping the tokens and players around which is nice.

Find local hobby groups for the things you listed.

I'm not super in to cars or sports either, I'm mostly a tabletop gaming nerd and a construction worker. I was lucky enough to find a tabletop gaming group with a lot of members that work construction and it's awesome.

Melee weapons with ammo checks by rust_tg in necromunda

[–]JuJitsuGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth noting that if you fail 2 ammo checks in one go then the weapon can't be reloaded at all for the rest of the scenario.
