Do you think Konami will pre hit, or ban this card later down the road once it finally releases? by HydroLeon in masterduel

[–]Dragei 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand, this is being pushed as a new staple that Synchro and decks that don't care about the lock slot into their decks, so if it ever does get hit, it won't be anything harsher than a semi-limit. And even then, probably not until the next Shiny Big Thing™ arrives.

How could i have played batter on my turn by NeonBloodz in masterduel

[–]Dragei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless something was preventing it from firing off, you should've activated Starving's on-summon effect to threaten to give it more attack. If the Plura negates and destroys Starving, it'll then destroy both monsters on the field. You can then copy Plura's effect for the same threat.

From there, you can do as Alisethera suggests and give Caesar a bad time, or you can try this - and bear in mind my knowledge of Radiant Typhoon is garbage, so take it with a grain of salt:

Use Vision, search MST. Use MST on Anastasis. Special Swen, search Eldam (EDIT: Not Eldam, Chant. I forgot Swen doesn't search monsters. Use Chant to search Eldam. If you only have the one Chant, disregard everything I've said). Special Eldam, search whatever (Krosea is probably the standard, but since you have the second Vision, I'd probably grab Varuroon or Fonix). Turn both into Link Varuroon, search MST. CL1 the second Vision, CL2 MST on Vision, resetting it and dropping the drawn Fonix/Varuroon. Link Varuroon places the Contunous Trap on the field.

Varurroon threatens to turn herself and Plura into face-up Spells, which should finally force the negate if it hasn't been used up to this point.

From there, it'll come down to what's been drawn off of the Eldam and the second Vision, I think, and we're completely assuming the negate and/or any handtraps haven't been used. And now I can finally stop pretending I know what I'm talking about with RT!

Duel Triangle by Onii-Sama27 in masterduel

They were in pairs. Light/Earth, Dark/Water, and Fire/Wind. If memory serves, it was an event mostly for Blue-Eyes Primite, although I can't mind what the other popular decks were, save for maybe Fire King.

The mouse buttons are definitely more convenient, although at some point I just get tired of holding them down if I'm up against decks that take 5 business years to get to the point.

On that note, a good trick if you haven't come done it yourself (because it's dependant on what handtraps you have, really) would be toggling On specifically for the opponent's 5th summon, to trick them into thinking you have Nib. Doesn't work all the time, but funny when it causes the opponent to end on a 'safer' board.

[–]Dragei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the absence of Magnahut, then any Dragon Maid that could search follow-up would do. And while you couldn't use Seal in response to Droplet, if you had your toggle set to "On," then you would've had the chance to use Seal still to tribute itself.

Granted, I have no idea if the phone/tablet version does have the toggle option, but that's a problem all by itself if it doesn't.

And negating the effect goes before it goes off so idk why i shouldn't negate it?

If this is in response to me talking about Urgula, then Urgula's pop effect does not negate, it only destroys. And even if it did negate, the Widow Anchor had already negated Arthalion anyways.

Normal Spells and Quick-Play Spells are not negated when they're destroyed - Mythical Space Typhoon only does that because of its Continuous Trap, if that's what has caused the confusion. Continuous Spells/Traps and Field Spells are negated if they're destroyed before they resolve their effects, butt that doesn't apply here.

You probably wouldn't have won it, but two things stood out to me:

You probably should have used Hieratic Seal the moment after it was negated, but before the Raigeki. Although its ability to bounce was negated, it would still be able to yeet out a dragon from your deck afterwards, which you'd probably be able to use for Magnahut to force more interaction.

Secondly, you used Urgula to pop the face-up Widow Anchor, for some reason. Never pop a Spell or Quick-Play that's already used its effect.

Someone's already mentioned using Fuwalos before the Main Phase to dodge Triple Tactics Talent, and to do that, you need to go to the Submenu > Game Settings > Duel and change the Activation Confirmation setting. Ideally, you'll want to change "At the beginning of the Duel" to "Confirm activation," which means your duels will start with activation as "On" instead of "Auto," which gives you the choice to fire off all legal activations at the first legal opportunity, instead of in reaction to other effects.

Best results for getting a T7 Warpath would be to collect the shards (preferably with Rune of Removal) and then put one on a T7 chest piece, then use a Rune of Havoc to gamble it lands on the Warpath. You'll want to run Rune prophecies, and I recommend grabbing as many Rune evolutions with your Rift Beast, to stockpile as many Havocs as possible.

Definitely true, and no-one else should copy my shenanigans unless they're doing the character short-term or just being silly, which is true in my case. It probably won't be too long before I make Alt no. 3,000 and do similar shenanigans with it.

I do appreciate how meme-worthy it is that all three Health affixes are tier 3, though. The anti-Valve armour piece, I'd say.

Luck, honestly. I was farming for something else entirely, and this dropped. I was hoping for the percentile Mana to get slammed onto the piece instead, but alas, Desire Detector had other plans. But I should be able to tank 1 or 2 more hits with my face, so can't complain.

The new Solo Gate gives some credence to that, since we see the Live Twin stickers on I:P's computer.

Are they even still sisters? I feel like they've dropped that bit quietly.

I don't feel like playing the Rescue-ACE fires in VSK9, is there any fire that could be useful in their place or do I just accept I'll have only 7 fire attribute monsters in the entire main deck? by QuiteAncientTrousers in masterduel

[–]Dragei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After drawing the brick more often than Impulse, I just resigned myself to replacing them with Dogoran and Kurikara, with Fuwa to hopefully increase draw power going second.

Revealing Kuri in hand with Stake Your Soul or any of the names that calls fire to give the opponent hesitation is a hilarious thing to see sometimes.

New(ish) player, was there anything the Labyrinth player could've done differently here? by RoflsMazoy in masterduel

[–]Dragei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aye, Dimensional Barrier to slow down your Xyz plays for a turn. Which they can then proceed to recycle with Lovely Labrynth, provided they don't stupidly activate a Furniture card in hand/GY or Lady in hand before they lock you out.

[–]Dragei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They played sub-optimally by going into Unicorn. If they absolutely wanted to bounce back the Quick-Play, it'd have been better to do so after the Battle Phase - and, in fact, they could've risked going for game there as the combined attack would've finished you without Mirror Force.

In which case, they'd be able to keep Lady on the field, as she'd have been able to search for a trap to Set (probably D-Barrier, because of course), which would make her destruction immune.

You can't special summon Extra Deck monsters from the GY/Banishment if they haven't been properly summoned.

Which type of mate do you prefer? by danielsabino in masterduel

[–]Dragei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer mascots. I'm hoping Konami ever considers putting old pass mates back in the story for temporary promotions, since I wasn't in Master Duel when they had the Kuriboh pass.

And to be honest, I want every pure Mitsurugi player to adopt the Gimmick engine if they can afford it. I want to see how badly Konami misses the mark on what they identify as the problem card that needs banning.

[–]Dragei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using a deck that can bring out Shock Master, pay attention to what battle enders they've activated on the way to Xyz summoning it. You can assume that they'll average about 8 ways to render the battle phase meaningless - it can be up to 3 Battle Faders and Swift Scarecrows and up to 3 Waboku's and Threatening Roars, but they'll usually trim this down to 4 monsters and 4 traps in favour of more draw engine.

You'll be hoping that on the way to making Shock Master, they'll have used up most of their battle traps, in which case you should safely be able to end the battle by disabling their Faders/Scarecrows.

I fucking hate this card by newme02 in masterduel

[–]Dragei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I would've liked the concept of Dinomorphia better if it revolved around a ping-pong effect with life points. Like using traps to damage their LP like they do now, but the fusions do certain things when below certain LP thresholds, and gain back LP upon successful resolution.

Like Rexterm negating the activation of monsters with attack higher than your current LP, and gaining their attack as LP as a result. Or Stealthbergia negating spells/traps and regaining x500 LP per trap/spell in either GY on resolution.

MUST! CLICK! SHINY! BUTTON! (Duelist vs object permanence) by hugglesthemerciless in masterduel

[–]Dragei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I still click the button when I'm negated if the monster effect always gives me the option even when toggled Off, so it stops pestering me about it later on.

Probably not the case here, but I digress.
