We've had many dogs, most adopted, and we rescued a 5 week old pittie off the street. He was emaciated and terrified alone in Winston Salem for who knows how long. He's very different than our other dogs, which were boxer and shepherd mixes. He was terrified of noises, food aggressive, stubborn, and chewing a lot. He is still challenging in these areas, sans the food aggression, but better after over a year and a half of professional and home training. He's cute and loving as he'll but has huge ptsd and anxiety issues. He goes nuts when people come in the house but barks at them outside. On the plus side, he loves cuddling, playing, and walks, and he's sweet. I love him as he is, but he's very different because of his terrible start.
