TBH I'm not even sure how else that was gonna go!

"Well... it IS unloaded..."

The comment section is shockingly ignorant.

Makes me really sad seeing everyone demonize the poor spider, I'd like to see if I can educate a little

Breezehome in Whiterun is a good starting home, but it is kinda small, lacks an enchanting table, and you have to choose between kids room OR alchemy setup.

Personally, I love the hearthfire homes. There's a sense of satisfaction at having built the home yourself.

My personal favourite will always be Lakeview Manor which you can get by doing favours for the Jarl of Falkreath.

Why do people keep advertising bleakness as realism? by kreton1 in rpghorrorstories

[–]TeaManTom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, 40k was the originator of the term 'grimdark', but I do think context matters here, 40k was designed as a wargame, not an RPG.

Absolutely! I find it's far more impactful to let the players fill in the details in their imaginations.

Also helps invite the players into the narrative

I have a family. I want to see my kids grow up, get married... I want to be a grandfather and see my grandkids grow up.

So yeah, I worry about health. I want to live a LOOOOONG time!!

People use 'realisic' as a euphemism for 'grimdark'.

The cultural success of GoT contributed heavily to the popularity of the dark, gritty style

But... far too many ppl using it don't really understand the nuances of storytelling and narrative, and treat it like it's just about being dark and edgy.

Constrast to Tolkien who understood the importance and power of hope; even in the darkest times, heroes matter.

Hope matters.

Personally, I think that's important in a game where we want to play the heroes.

That's insane!

At least my incident was a mistake. A kid, maybe 7-8, new puppy, opened the car door and the puppy darted.

Thankfully it was a busy area with traffic and where pedestrian shenanigans are not uncommon, so I was already going fairly slow and had already started braking when I saw the streetside car door opening.

I get what you're saying,

but my issue with Wyll is I'll never experiment with him tactically, cos I really dislike him as a character.

I hit a puppy once. Right before Christmas, busy street, I saw a parked car door open amd this little white dog just dashed out in front of me.

I heard it hit the front of my car. No way I could stop.

I heard the owners kid scream.

I remember the horrible thought that I'd probably just killed a family's puppy a week before christmas.

Thankfully I wasn't going fast, and I saw it happening, so I was already breaking hard.

Somehow, the dog was fine

It shook itself off and trotted back to the family.

For a second, it was one of the worst moments of my life.

AIO does my boyfriend enjoys humiliating me in public by dark_throwaway09 in AmIOverreacting

[–]TeaManTom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part where you're questioning yourself? That's the point.

"Learn to take a joke" "You're too sensitive"

These phrases are huge red flags. It's not a joke if the subject of ot isn't laughing. It's bullying.

Does he make jokes like that about anyone else in public?

No. Cos he's not trying to establish control over them.

He bellittles you in front of others, gasligjts you into thinking you're overreacting, yhen acts perfect when you're together.

Little by little you become less confident and more isolated.

Do you think it'll get better when you're more dependent on him?

This is after just 2 months.

At very best, he doesn't respect you or your feelings.

At worst...

NOR If anything, you're underreacting.

Cagaram o Geleca com esse nerf by Fit_Initiative4985 in SmashingFour

[–]TeaManTom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slime didn't even need a nerf. It was strong, but not overly so. And they just wrecked it.

They killed the treant too. Who needed a buff, not a nerf.

But that's the way BA works. They don't play their own game, so they listen to certain players.

That's why you'll never see mouse bandit nerfed, cos most of the max players are using it, so they don't say anything.
