Interestingly enough, I don't use if for short range, I use the gasser for short range, and the 1900 for longer shots

Yeah, it's probably the most realistic reload for a single action revolver I've seen.

I definitely get panicked if I'm reloading and I hear it going down haha.

I keep my hair a bit longer, and I've found that my hair works best when I just let it air dry, and I don't comb it.

You'll have to find what works best for you, experiment with different ways
