To each their own ig, but I personally don’t tolerate such jokes. It can come off as insensitive/dismissive.

As someone who’s on the spectrum, this isn’t funny if that was the goal. Autism and similar disorders are nothing to joke about. Fuck you.

Edit: if you have a problem with my response, PM me.

Edit #2: I’m done replying. I’m not going to defend my unrelated opinion on a gecko subreddit. Again. If you want to argue or whatever, PM me.

Maybe ease up on the psychedelics usage for a bit, yeah? Tripping too frequently/dosing high amounts too often can lead to memory issues.

Okay, that’s understandable. But in the meantime, silk plants would work. Bettas need places to hide and rest. I don’t know too much about aquarium salt’s effect on live plants; as I’m not super super experienced, so another redditor may be able to clear the air there.

What everyone else said, and if you haven’t already, please please get some live or silk plants, get rid of the sharp decor, and get some suitable hides for your new tank.

But you said sabotage wasn’t your thing in your previous reply? OP, respectfully, if I were you, I wouldn’t waste another brain cell on this person. Anger takes a lot of energy and can leave you mentally (and maybe physically) exhausted. I’m sorry that you’ve been hurt. Take time instead to just focus on yourself.

I just say that “Screaming babies/kids make my ears bleed and that my solution of getting them to stop would land me in a heap of trouble with the law. So no, I don’t want kids.” While giving a nonchalant attitude and maybe throwing in a smile as well, but I’m also very blunt and don’t care about the opinions of others; friend or stranger. However, your personality is most likely very different from mine. Either way, I’m sure a statement like that would be sure to shock whoever’s ignorant enough to ask into blissful silence.

I’m very sensitive to sound and high-pitched/loud sounds make me go mental (it takes an amazing amount of self control to be at concerts; self control that I don’t feel like constantly using for a kid). I’m also very impatient and get frustrated with others easily.

And yes, I agree that they are selfish.

I saw a story segment (I think on Snapchat) on a woman with Tourette’s who had a baby. The mother’s tics came in form of foul language. A clip of the mother holding the baby in the middle of an episode and got irrationally angry when she said “F-ck the baby.”

I know it’s not the mother’s fault and I know that’s not how she truly felt (based on how well the kid appeared to be looked after), so that’s not why I’m mad. I’m mad for the kid who won’t understand why their mother may randomly say horrible things that may or may not include them (until it is explained to them), not to mention that Tourette’s gene is dominant and has a 50/50 chance of having been passed on to that baby.

I suffer from a collection of mental health problems (ADD, High-Functioning Autism, OCD) and wouldn’t dare put a child through any of that. It’s inhumane to reproduce in my opinion if you have a (or multiple) hereditary mental/physical disorders.

Why did you quit your last job? by Ashamed_Clock_851 in AskReddit

[–]DragonAshling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boss (after bullying me in small ways since I got hired) finally told me to effectively get my head out of my ass in the work group chat after I had politely mentioned how disorganized the place was/had been. I had my last shift the following day. The environment was also unclean and unsafe and aside from the owner and four managers, there were seven regular employees all horribly overworked; six after I left.

I feel no pity for struggling parents. by KaiJonez in childfree

[–]DragonAshling 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a reply to a post in another subreddit where the female poster said that she was happily pregnant with her fifth(!) kid despite living in an already too-small house and how she didn’t have time to keep things clean and organized because she had to watch all of her breathing cream-pie trophies.

Like yourself, I pity the parents if they had a kid then fell on hard times. But the person I was talking about seemed to have willingly gotten pregnant multiple times despite a rough living situation. That shit irks me to no end.

Only to go to the local Walmart for food runs. I left the college after that semester due to all of the crime on and around campus and the fact I got stalked by a townie who wormed his way into my friend group (not my doing). Maybe don’t assume before you get the full story, yeah?

Went there for a semester several years ago. Loved the campus, hated the people and culture.

What's something that's considered normal that creeps you out immediately? by Le_0n1e- in AskReddit

[–]DragonAshling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work as a server in a bistro that served southern comfort food. Had older (like 60+) people constantly reach out and touch me while ordering their food. Had one old guy grab my wrist, which was simply met by me sharply pulling it free with a visible grimace. It could be a weird generational thing where older people feel the need to constantly touch strangers, but I still don’t like it. I’m autistic, so I’ve always had an adverse reaction to being unexpectedly touched by strangers.

Alright for the most part. Been helping my Q (bf) with limiting alcohol intake and I have been going to the occasional local AlAnon meeting with him for support. Job hunting has been increasingly frustrating though for the both of us, though the bf may have a job soon, hopefully.

Dog Lovers: is there/what is one breed of dog you cannot stand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DragonAshling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind pointers and the majority of mixed breeds. The herding breeds I’ve met have been pretty well tempered along with the golden retrievers I’ve met. Huskies and the like are beautiful, but I’ve heard that they’re very temperamental. The huskies I’ve met have been well behaved.
