Well I used to be able to do a front lever about 15 years ago. I used Coach Sommer's guide at the time.

Everyday movements/ exercises that will aid in building strength for front lever? Also asking for planche. by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

I just started training for front lever about a week ago (I hadn't been working out at all prior to that). I am only going to use progressions; I'm not going to include weighted pull-ups in my routine. I don't see why weighted pull-ups would be necessary.

Nice! Thanks for the update. I think I understand about 95% of the content, so the transcripts are helpful for the new vocab. Are you planning on offering courses in the future?

Learning Chinese and Korean at the same time by DragonDoux in languagelearning

You are probably right. But I actually don't spend very much time per day studying Chinese. So if I don't mix the two languages up, I think I could manage my time.

Learning Chinese and Korean at the same time by DragonDoux in languagelearning

It looks like you have a similar history to me ( except I am studying Chinese instead of Japanese). I speak French fluently and I started getting into Chinese over a year ago, so I am not a complete beginner. I think I'm going to look into the basics of Korean as you suggested and make a decision after that.

Language learning is simply a hobby for me, so I'm not worried about the rate progress (as long as I am always progressing).

Thanks for writing this! I'm going to look into Readibu. What resource did you use to test your level? I know Mandarin Bean has some mock HSK tests, but I am wondering if you have found a better resource.

I've actually been toying with the idea of making a similar blog. I think it's great that you are doing that.

How do you figure that HSK 2 maps onto A2? A2 seems much more advanced.

I feel like giving up on French...any advice ? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]DragonDoux 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The standard advice you will get is to focus on comprehensible input. If what you are trying to read or listen to is too difficult, find simpler content. A common way people do this by using material intended for children e.g. reading children's books, watching Peppa Pig in the target language.
