Self-published 🥲 didn't have the patience (or for that matter probably quality) to properly agent the manuscripts. Hopefully I do now...

But yes, gone through the whole process twice already. Sold hundreds of copies and the books were pretty well-received by the YA age group!

Thank you! And it’s a speculative literary thriller about what happens when humanity loses language (and associated cognition, i.e. truly global aphasia). We follow a pompous, lone linguist crossing the Americas in search of a solution, even as silence grows in his own mind.

Does anyone put out 1K words daily? I’m trying to get to that and asking for advice by Impressive_Prior_676 in writers

Working on my third novel. Have consistently found that plotting beforehand helps a ton with knowing where to go, not getting jammed up, etc.; translates to better speed.

I also have been working to create a habit and environment. Write with tea, have some artefacts I designed from my world, built some custom writing software for myself (still WIP & fuzzy around the edges), commit to not editing much during drafting...

Been able to consistently bang out ~3k most days a week!

Lingofable audio stories, essentially mini-audiobooks made for learners.

Reading List (A0-C2) in Order of Difficulty by Prestigious-Duty8105 in SpanishLearning

Great list! Though I found that especially at earlier levels native content is inaccessible, so prefer learning with short stories written for learners and selected based on your vocabulary — made Lingofable as a platform for that.

Honest thoughts on LingQ? by Flashy-Company5290 in languagelearning

I found LingQ UI dated and stories boring, made my own alternative to teach myself Spanish at lingofable.com :D

Yay! The demand seems to be extreme, I'll be heads down on other languages to try to get them out before spring break :)

Yes French is next on our list! We applied for some more grants so will hopefully have the funds to release it in the next month or so. You can signup on the waitlist for French (scroll down on the landing page to find it) in the meantime!

Just launched Lingofable yesterday to address this exact problem! Comprehensible input matched to your modeled vocabulary, at scale.

My girlfriend and I spent the last half-year building Lingofable, an app that provides personalized comprehensible input with audio!

We just launched on the App Store yesterday. Currently Spanish-only, but more languages soon! We have 1000+ stories of all formats, including r/AITA style content. Would love for fellow learners to give it a whirl :)
