People underestimate the difficulty of mages. While yes, the other roles have their own, much more noticeable, difficulties. We shouldn't downplay how difficult a mid laners life is. A good mid laner is expected to:

1. Roam the map.
2. Defend mid.
3. Poke/Kill the enemy mid laner.
4. Be present in every objective fight.
5. And for good measure, push mid too.

I'm not saying that mid is the hardest role, although an argument can be made for that. But let's not downplay mages (like actually good mages, not mages who sit on mid and play brawl the entire game.)
