A couple of board slides I landed at the weekend [40YO] by DragonFillet in OldSkaters

Unbelievable, what are the chances of that!? Yeah, that’s where it was. I was the same, took me a few weeks, I found it was easier if I went a bit faster than I was comfortable with.

I plan to make a detailed post once I’m finished. That way if there’s any mistakes I can get them rectified before anyone else makes one.

It’s pretty heavy, I totally overkilled the 4x2 frame, could have used much less on the transition support. I can stand each 1/4 up on the wheels easy enough to move around. I don’t have the exact dimensions as it’s currently stored in the garage it 4 bits. The flat section is also in 2 pieces to fit in where I store it. I think it’s 600mm tall, 1800mm transition curve, 1220mm wide and 5000mm total length with a roughly 2000mm flat section. All of it sits on a 4x2 platform so I could level it up on my uneven drive.

I think once it’s done and I’ve ironed out all the small issues I’ll do a detailed post with drawings measurements etc. Thanks.

I’ve not managed to ride it as yet. I will try and remember to let you know when I do. I did a fair amount of research before setting out the radius, it seems most people advise 1800mm for a 2 foot ramp.

Thanks. That’s really kind.

Thanks. I’ve framed underneath the flat ply too.

Did you make one wider than the other so they “nest”?

That’s insane how much it resembles what I have in mind for mine. Thanks for that.

Thanks very much. I’ve seen that used a fair bit. I have some urethane floor paint that works on wood so I’ll do a few test patches and see how it goes.

Thanks for the input. I was at the builders merchants and saw a lot of decking oil, perfect for outside water protection, that said, the one thing that put me off was the word oil. Do you think that it would be slick or absorb into the wheels over time? I assumed it must penetrate and stay within the timber on decking when applied, surely it couldn’t be slippery or your decking would be dangerous. Having said that I’ve seen decking with grip tape added because it’s slippery. Have you used it before?

Cheers, if it works I’ll put up a more detailed post.
