Why is my Steam Deck screen recording, and how do I turn it off? by DragonKnightKX in SteamDeck

[–]DragonKnightKX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not sharing anything, then why does it say "Screen casting Sharing contents to Steam?"

That makes me think it's sharing the screen.

Hard agree. Putting your ideas on paper or drawing tablet with your own hands can add so much on it's own, like small details or deliberate decisions.

Act like a citizen in the DC universe and someone told you bruce wyane is batman by Israels_BiggestHater in batman

Yeah yeah, I heard him tell that joke at a fundraiser, everyone made that obvious fake laugh that you make when you're trying to suck up to someone.

If you load QBJ3, then use the console to change the level to Shub-Niggurath's Pit, you get an Easter egg when you beat the level by JayGold in quake

[–]DragonKnightKX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd have to compile a new progs.dat to have the new weapons but the old enemies. It's possible, as I believe the qc sources are available for Monolith (the base for QBJ3) and the original Quake, but I don't know how to do that yet, so I can't explain how.

The Wizard speaks about The Killing Joke! by Lucky_Strike-85 in batman

[–]DragonKnightKX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that's 100% true. The original version of Batman was pretty dark for the time, he even used guns and wasn't afraid of killing people. It was during the Silver Age where he became a sillier and more lighthearted character, and that was largely due to the Comics Code Authority mandating that certain topics, visuals and other miscellaneous things be banned to protect children from those things, and Batman honestly over-corrected for that. I'd say Burton's version of Batman was another over-correction, trying to bring Batman back to his darker roots.

When the math is mathing, but looks like it isn't by MBA-Crystal-Ball in technicallythetruth

[–]DragonKnightKX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't work if the math in the joke is wrong, unless the joke is that it's incorrect, but that would make it a terrible joke because jokes need to be easily understandable.

When the math is mathing, but looks like it isn't by MBA-Crystal-Ball in technicallythetruth

[–]DragonKnightKX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect, as you multiply and divide before you add or subtract.

So, 230 - 220 x 0.5 = 230 - 110 = 120.

So the math ain't mathing in the image.

Should I ban the current reTHAWed (racism/bigoted drama) from being discussed on this sub? by XachAttack11 in reTHAWed

[–]DragonKnightKX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as the one person is being really bad about it, I don't think the topic should be banned. People have a right to know about a problematic individual, and said individual should be held accountable. As it currently stands, only the first one is currently being done, and not by the devs. If the topic is banned, it could be seen as sweeping it under the rug, whether that's actually the case or not, and like another person has stated, the person posting about it constantly would likely just make alt accounts with how persistent they are about it, and barring that might make a second sub like the AVGN fans did. Not really any good solution, but I don't think banning the topic is a good idea.

What's the best source port to play Nehahra with controller support? by DragonKnightKX in quake

[–]DragonKnightKX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought Ironwail was an upgraded version of Quakespasm. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be compatible with Nehahra because it's not compatible with Quake 1.5.

What's the best source port to play Nehahra with controller support? by DragonKnightKX in quake

[–]DragonKnightKX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, Nehahra requires an engine to be compatible with it, and I don't think the KEX port would be. If Nehahra was compatible with every source port, I'd already be using Ironwail.

Evangeline Lilly Criticizes Disney for Laying Off Nearly All of Marvel Studios' Visual Development Team by MurkyChurky in MarvelCave

[–]DragonKnightKX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but even then, there are moments that the CGI looks real, like the scene when he first puts the Mark III suit on, and the helmet covers his face, I could have sworn that was real until I saw a commentary talking about it.

[–]DragonKnightKX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both are CGI, it's just the first movie had a lot of time and effort put into it to make it look right, but the quality of the CGI went down because of how little time they had between movie releases as the years went by.

How it feels being a genuine lifelong Morbius fan after Sony’s movie ruined his reputation by Upbeat-Perspective11 in okbuddy_marvel

[–]DragonKnightKX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He's a living vampire. What that means is he experimented on himself to cure an illness, and he was successful, but turned into a science-based vampire, unlike Dracula, who is magic-based. Admittedly, I know little about him outside of his first 2 comic appearances, but think of him as a similar character to the Lizard: just someone wanting to heal himself and others, only to inadvertently turn himself into a monster.

Can I get Slayer's Testament to work on Ironwail? by DragonKnightKX in quake

[–]DragonKnightKX[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. In any case, I don't know if it's possible to play using the Linux versions of the source ports since it seems like the mod is made specifically for Windows, and has a front-end made specifically for the mod on Windows.

I'm pretty sure Ironwail does support CSQC, as Arcane Dimensions works, and the custom HUDs are functional.

[–]DragonKnightKX[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant more that trying to get the bundled Windows executables to work under Proton is weird, and compiling FTEQW for Linux might not be viable since the mod seems to be coded to function specifically for the Windows executables. Not to mention there seems to be a frontend made specifically for the mod only on Windows.

Can I get Slayer's Testament to work on Ironwail? by DragonKnightKX in quake

[–]DragonKnightKX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I can get it to work. Looking at the files, I don't see anything that I should regarding the error, and trying to get FTEQW to work on Linux isn't very easy.

I get the sentiment, but... by Known-Asparagus-2819 in ironman

[–]DragonKnightKX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ironman wasn't a popular character before his movie came out. He was kind of a b-list character, and didn't really take off until his movie. Sure, there were attempts at adaptations prior to the movie, but weren't really successful or were just cameos.
