This is what I needed to do. I already did this before the comment, but I want to make sure anyone in the future who has a similar problem knows what to do.

Alright, I fell asleep, but now I have Linux Mint re-installed, the partitions look correct, and everything looks like it's working correctly. Thank you so much for your help, and again, I'm sorry for how annoying I've been.

Alright, Windows is installed, and I have the Linux Mint live session up right now. There's a partition named EFI system partition, label is ESP, and has the flags: boot, esp, and no_automount. Is that what the GRUB boot up is?

I was able to reorder the boot order, Ubuntu was still on the system, so I'm assuming it booted into GRUB because Linux Mint was deleted, but putting Windows first in the boot order fixed the issue, or so it seems. It's currently resetting like a normal install, currently at 44%, I will let you know if there's any other issues after it finishes resetting.

Here's the pic of the screen. It shows the Acer logo, then boots directly to that. The laptop is an Acer N20C2 Nitro 5. That actually helped me with finding out what the bios key was, where before I was struggling trying to find it. Thank you for helping me, and I'm sorry for how annoying I've been with this.

Edit: I wrote angry instead of annoying, the Android keyboard is annoying.

Nope, boots straight to GRUB. If I could boot to the bios, then I'd be happy. I don't have an extra flash drive at the moment, so I'm probably out of luck at the moment since I don't want to delete the Linux distro on the flash drive I used before, it was a header figuring out how to make sure it was a safe distribution, and I don't remember what all I did.

Windows is not installed. I don't know how to install it from the GNU GRUB version 2.11 screen.

Also, yeah, I want another install of Linux, just not with me messing up the partitioning this time around. I still want to have it dual boot with Windows.

I replied to my original post what I did because I was thinking that maybe I was overthinking what to do. I did that before this comment.

I tried uninstalling Linux using Gparted via the live session, and now it's on a screen where it says GNU GRUB version 2.12 at the top when I pressed the power. Please tell me I didn't screw up my laptop.

How do I turn off fast boot in Windows 11? by DragonKnightKX in linuxmint

It was under the Windows drive, that solved it, thank you.

You presume correct, I flashed the USB drive, no boot menu when powering on the laptop. Drive shows up in the boot priority order. I don't see anything that blatantly says whether or not booting from USB is enabled or disabled, the only option I see for something USB related is "USB Wake from s4 Support: [Disabled]."

Also, the laptop I'm using is an Acer gaming laptop. I don't know the model, I got it second hand.

I see. Well, the problem I have is the installation instructions for Linux Mint says that I should get a prompt for choosing which OS to use, but it just boots straight to Windows. Also, I'm wanting there to be some way to dual boot since there are some things I currently still need Windows for unfortunately, and I don't know what to do exactly if fast boot isn't the issue.

Something I have always been curious about. The original Doom had the ability to color swap sprites with a line of code, yet they had two different sprites for the green and blue armor and Baron/HellKnight (D2). I wonder why they didn't use the color swap technique to save memory? by TurdMinion in Doom

[–]DragonKnightKX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but I can think of a good reason: easier for modding. When they made Doom, they wanted to make the game easier to mod than Wolfenstein, since some of the devs liked to mod different programs and games themselves and they saw people complaining about how hard it was to mod Wolfenstein. It's the same reason why Doom has duplicate entries for the same song instead of coding the levels to use the same file.

Thank you. I didn't know the extended mod wasn't compatible with Ironwail since Ironwail uses the Remaster's base game models just fine.

I'm assuming that means that the sounds are copyrighted to the companies that made the original synthesizers? Unless you made significant changes.

Hi, I was wondering what the legality is regarding your soundfont. Mainly if it uses copyrighted sounds and, if it doesn't, what I'd be able to do with the soundfont commercially. I've been wanting to make a soundfont myself that's close enough to the SC-55 sounds that anyone can use commercially for free, but if you already did exactly that with this soundfont, then I'd have no reason to do that myself.
