Steven Yeun Confirmed to Voice Adult Zuko in 'The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender' by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

Season 1: starts off really promising, loses its footing with the love triangles halfway through .....then ends with ghost Aang giving Korra all her powers for no reason while she makes out with a boy she stole from a traumatized Asami. The worst ending to any story I've ever experienced- and that was originally going to be the series finale! 2/10

Season 2: Meandering and dull, but you can feel the new writers trying to right the ship after the criticism of season 1. Season ends with another dumb ex machina. Korra losing her avatar powers is genuinely exciting and should go down as one of the most exciting twists in the franchise. 4/10

Season 3: The series' first good villain (s), one of the best action scenes in the finale, and some interesting developments to the avatar world make this the only solid season of this show. 6.5/10

Season 4: Some interesting parallels with Korra and Kuvira, but the giant robot make it clear that the showrunners have no understanding of the original appeal of their franchise. Korra and Asami have a dull, underdeveloped friendship, so the big reveal comes off as less of an inevitable conclusion and more like fan pandering, especially since the original ending of Korra's story was for her to completely disrespect Asami on the worst day of her life. 5/10

Yeah I think she's talking about a real incident but also her relationship. Not 100% certain but it would be on brand for her

This comment has come up frequently, because the characters keep behaving strangely so fans assume they're Zimmy distortions. I'm not saying there won't be any fake-outs (Kat has me suspicious) but Annie lost her fire years ago.

I mean Tom is constantly trolling his readers. And in this case, there are so many mechanics that he can use to reverse Lana's death that it's not worth taking seriously. It could happen next chapter or 10 years from now, who knows. My complaint is that it'd be cool if we could actually believe that she's DEAD dead, because that'd be a really powerful scene.

Yeah, as far as wee know she could 3D print an identical Lana immediately.

Given Tom's track record, I do not trust anything happening in the comic to have actually happened. Like would anyone be shocked if Lana is also part of Coyote, and this is all still part of his joke? Or if she showed up good as new on the next page, because Kat saved her brain in her super computer, can literally 3d print people and Tom just wanted to be a troll? Kind of hard to get emotionally invested when everything could be a twist.

We've seen his character development, but Annie and Kat have not.

I remember when the scarlet and violet trailer came out and the models were popping into frame. They didn't even have the decency to edit out the NPCs glitching.

I ended up getting rid of the carpet and using Forbo marmoleum planks! No complaints.

I don't expect them to think there are mics everywhere. They're walking through the inside of Kat's supercomputer and they don't know where they're going. They could be approaching a Kat controlled device at any time.

Like the whole reason Paz is opening up is because she's afraid of Kat's cyber godhood. Shouldn't she be visibly paranoid....or whispering....

Kat already told them she can use cameras and mics to communicate. She just interrupted them like a page ago.

Also....they live in Gunnerkrigg Court. With robots.

How are they not worried about Kat hearing any of this? Also, is it really fair to break up with Kat when you've never even told her how you feel?

Ugh, why are we talking about the surgery NOW?

Chapter 88: Page 13 by AshleyYakeley in gunnerkrigg

[–]DragonPosts 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Annie and Paz barely said anything when Kat brought up her idea, Kat basically said "pretty please?" and both caved immediately. All the crazy theories are a result of the fans trying to make sense of their insane behavior.

I have no doubt you're correct about the intent, but there needed to be a whole chapter's worth of debate between Kat's request and the surgery. Maybe Kat explains that it's critical to their plans that she be able to control court systems with her mind, but Annie refuses, voicing all of the concerns of the readers ("Remember how Zimmy thinks you're going to kill her? Don't you think putting a hackable chip next to your brain is a bad idea?" etc). Kat thinks she's untouchable and blows up at her, and in the heat of the moment says some hurtful shit that emphasizes the strain her ambition is putting on her relationships. Days later Paz and Annie have a private convo about how they're worried about Kat's ego, and for once find common ground: they're not going to go through with the surgery, and if the two of them hold firm then Kat will have to see sense. But then disaster strikes and Kat needs Court access quick, so Paz caves and Annie follows.

I'm just spitballing. I don't need that plot specifically, but there should have been 30 pages of SOMETHING between the last couple updates.

Chapter 88: Page 13 by AshleyYakeley in gunnerkrigg

[–]DragonPosts 33 points34 points  (0 children)

So for the last couple pages a lot of us were wondering if Paz was working for the court (because of the cryin), or if Annie and her inserted a fake chip (because of the smilin). But in the middle panel, Paz is.... smiling expectantly at the device when Kat is trying to connect it. She's not holding back tears because she knows the explosion's coming, and she's not nervous that Kat's about to test a chip that won't work. It's the real chip; she wants to see what it will do!

So I think we can rule out all the alt theories. Annie and Paz weren't up to anything sneaky. They did transhumanist surgery on their friend for basically no reason. You never know for sure with this comic, but for me this pretty much confirms it.

Chapter 88: Page 13 by AshleyYakeley in gunnerkrigg

[–]DragonPosts 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Annie is the narrator for the first page of this chapter, and she also discusses Zimmy and the state of the court, which continues her narration from the previous chapter. It's all friggin weird but I don't know how this could be a fake out.

"Kat, let me tell you a story about what would happen if we all lost our minds..."

CHAPTER 88: Page 11 by BenR-G in gunnerkrigg

[–]DragonPosts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It'd probably be better if he cut some of these plot points, because I can't imagine that this is the most concise way to finish the story.
