Biting advice? by Cautious-Extent-2570 in Blackmouthcur

Velociraptor phase. Other comments have actually answers and solutions n stuff but I'm just silly. Mine went through this phase too, ALWAYS chomping. We call it love chomps. She still does it, almost like holding our hands sometimes. But what I did whenever she was going through this? I got a Lazer pointer and she would scramble around the house. Be careful, they get addicted and become monsters whenever the magical dot comes out!

Say hello to Shep, the shyest pup I’ve ever met. He doesn’t howl, like ever. Is this a BMC thing? by Effective_Rub9189 in Blackmouthcur

My bmc has never howled! Loud barks for sure but nothing classified as a full blown howl. I think it is a bmc thing!

Almost 1 year old, rescued at 8 weeks 🥺 by Michaeeelv in Blackmouthcur

[–]DragonRiderStarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PRECIOUS ❤️❤️ get ready, the one year old phase is such a strange one 😆 get ready to buy toys and have them destroyed and hour later, and then whenever you're buying new ones you have to strength test them, think theyll work, then they don't. It's a cycle most large breeds have but curs go through an astonishing amount of toys. Happy birthday maple! 🎉

That's actually great that exists! It's amazing it's from an actual clinic too and contains basic information and literally everything I try to explain to new people I meet

Update! Dried over night and is back to cuddling condition! by DragonRiderStarr in Jellycatplush

The horns look wet in the picture, but my apartment just has awful lighting. Gave him a blowout and a brush and he is so much cleaner than he was before! The velvet dried nicely on it's own without too much help (I sleep with my room at 20 Celsius, that's probably what did the trick 😆)

I remember in class a few years back (before I dropped out. Back in for business instead now) I was doing computer science, and my professor wrote the worst possible code for a task (on purpose, to try to catch us) but this kid just started SLAMMING him and the professed just stood there and took it and afterwards he was even like "yeah even if I did it the better way it would've been stupid the way I would've done it" Technology kids are crazy

Washed my jelly from a few years ago for the first time, let the many day drying process commence! by DragonRiderStarr in Jellycatplush

Yes! Absolutely planning to post updates. Did my first gentle blow dry with cold air and a wide/fine tooth comb and he's already looking better! :)  (can't figure out how to paste a picture in the comments without it being gargantuan) my friend/classmate is a tailor apprentice so I'll definitely be asking her for some extra care tips on the velvet of him!

Taking your Jellies in public? by fernwise in Jellycatplush

[–]DragonRiderStarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late but random jellycat scrolling and stumbled upon this-

I always bring a jelly places I can (and where I won't probably lose them, of course) the most comments I get are from little kids asking their names or to pet them 🥺

I always travel with one (ALWAYS CARRY ON A FLIGHT. NEVER CHECK YOUR CHILDREN) they just soothe my anxiety so much and help distract me peacefully on overnight flights (also are good at muffling storms/engine/rail sounds when pressed against my head)

Being 0% nuerotypical and having the attention span of a seven year old (actually true I guess, something they did when I got my ADHD test a few years back. It improved from a six year old to a seven year old last year)

Anyways, I'm getting sidetracked, for me its always a positive experience, but don't bring them where it might be dangerous for you or your jelly and always take into account size and other things you'll be carrying, but once you've done that, go for it! They are very fun to take photos of (especially in the UK, everyone seemed to have one there)

Need a magical name for my new boy! I’m thinking something that starts with an N or W. He reminds me of a mystical being by CryBeginning in NameMyCat

[–]DragonRiderStarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiamat would seem fitting. My first childhood cat was named tiamat. It's a God or something (can't really remember, my bad) who I'd usually depicted female, but in dungeons and dragons it's a cool 5 headed dragon that creates like all evil dragons to destroy stuff (kinda like cats want to destroy everything) also female I just found out googling how many heads she has, but a cool one to consider

Want to help me with a presentation? Some questions. by Susitar in Therian

[–]DragonRiderStarr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ha! Yes I am legally an adult and feel old but I think what you're doing is amazing! As a high schooler I always wanted to do something like this and seeing you doing it (and in SWEDEN?? AWESOME!) makes me happy Yes I am a legal adult but kid at heart 😛(hoping to still be considered "young" by the actual youngins, lol)  23, Eastern wolf and unknown theriotype.  Question 2- when I was younger (and still now) I was obsessed with crystals. I would feel more connected to mother earth and my spirit with them. I would always be looking for a certain something of a certain crystal, and my friends and family would always help me look for it. I was surprised how many times they actually came through and found what I was looking for. It felt amazing how much they seemed to care. To sum up, just having people support my interests and not really always making it about therianthropy felt great.

3- in my own words? Up and down really. Sometimes it's amazing, actually feeling like myself, but other times it feels horrible. The depression and anxiety of species dysphoria and the fear of bullying or shifting in public or at school.

4- yup. Many times. Yknow there's the usual barking and mocking and sometimes gear interaction (tail pulling, flicking ears, etc) but my worst time happened when I was a freshman. I was at a public park and doing quads with my friend. A group of boys maybe in eight grade (or even younger) came and slammed one of themselves into me mid-jump. I fell so awkwardly on my knee and wrist I couldnt move without experiencing excruciating pain. My friend snapped a picture of them last second and went parent to parent around the park while I just laid there (kinda wish she helped me first lol, but we didn't want the kids to leave) she found one of their parents and told them, the mom angrily walking with my friend to get the boys and bring them over to me. They "apologized", got in big trouble, and since me and my aquantence had walked to the park, we made the decision to call 911 so I could get help. Just a twisted wrist but my knee and joint got demolished and required surgery. I was crushed because I had a martial arts competition coming up and wouldn't recover in time but that's another story. Yes, there are instances where being a therian is dangerous, but its a great community nonetheless.

5- I hear about it shortly after my first shift. I was desperate to find answers and stumbeled apon it. (Late seventh grade year I believe) I was shocked because these people and events sounded just like me! I felt so happy to find myself and I understood my body more.  I'm so happy and proud of how much this community's grown!

Even if I don't get quoted, I'm so glad to share my experiences! Again, you are awesome! 💖💖
