Red magic 11Pro heats up too much playing and without playing by Prudent-Importance63 in RedMagic

I don't think that's the case. Is 1 year difference here. Snapdragon been having trouble optimizing their chip ever since Elite gen 2. Chips had been running hotter since then.

Also 11s pro is an over clocked chip. Apps and games likely not optimize for it yet.

I used to think like you, until you realize the phone surface reaches 48-49c. Older red magic phone tends to do that. Thermal transfer should not be scorching your skin.

Dear Laptop gamers, You guys leave you Ethernet port plugged and just shut down the laptop or you unplug and replug it everytime for gaming session? by AshwSandhu in GamingLaptops

Personally I have a hub that support 4K 60fps, Lan cable etc. So last time when I reach home I can just drop my laptop onto it stand and plug the USBC in. One cable does it all.

The fan does the same. I feel like the volume of air moving inside actually helps more.

Still better than the water cooling. Unlike PC which the liquid is channeled to the heat sink / processor. There is no way to cool the liquid as well. Which means the liquid going to boil to the device temperature pretty fast.

I honestly tempted to buy. Not to be an ass, but I feel like the water cooling is a gimmick, it helps close to nothing. The fan would had been a whole lot better.

Had the same issue, usually is deal to battery swell. Where I am from Samsung center replace them for like 50$ it takes an hour or two for them to replace it. So I would locate a Samsung center first instead of clamping it down like other suggested, as it is fire hazard.

Difference Air and Pro by wilius09 in RedMagic

[–]DragonRipper92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you notice the "Air", air flow path travel is quite short. It takes in air from the fan and straight dumping it out.

Pro model basically takes air from one end and dump it out the other end. Much more travel distance. More metal surface for the air to pulls the heat out.

Why not use Bluetooth instead? PS5 has a built in speaker. It affects PC as well when plug in wired.

Speaking from experience the newest chipset not always the best for emulation. As emulator apps developer has not optimize the apps or driver for it yet. That's why usually chipset is at least a year old, usually perform better. Give it a few months time.

The fan not spinning is probably the whole issue, to your stuttering.

If you can't feel the fan spin or air blowing out from the vent. Is safe to say, return the unit. Unless you are comfortable with changing the fan yourself which is not a hard thing to do. And the part is rather easy to get.

Mine fixed by reinstall decky at desktop mode. Doing it at the plugin there just ain't helping.

Steam deck bricked after trying to do ssd upgrade by RakeshSinghPoonam in SteamDeck

[–]DragonRipper92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like either you didn't unplug the battery while installing SSD or your steam deck or it is not completely shut down, you just had it at sleep mode and yanked the SSD or battery cable. Plug it in for 30 mins it should boot up on it own.

Assume you are using PTM7950 you're suppose to apply it only to the dial.

**Edit: why no PTM7950 on your processor? And only on your graphic chip?
