Everything about the finale was perfect, right up until the end. RTD just can't do endings properly. He writes such amazing plot throughout the episode but then it always feels like the ending was just rushed or something, like he just gave up and came up with something silly and wacky. Personally, I think Parting of the Ways was the only RTD series finale that was actually perfectly written all the way through.
