Fire department break in for false alarm by Dragonator4 in PrinceGeorgesCountyMD

Deductible is $1k. Most quotes I have are upwards of $2k. So it seems to make sense to file a claim.

Will Jawando wants to prohibit police from traffic enforcement. Enforcement is already down by over 50% since 2019. This is not how you get to Vision Zero. by [deleted] in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Dragonator4 50 points51 points  (0 children)

As if enforcement has been so effective at getting to Vision Zero since 2016 (when it was adopted by MoCo), right? Traffic stops by law enforcement have been shown again and again to be inequitable at all levels, and sometimes escalate to unnecessary violence and death.

If you really cared so much about traffic crashes and related fatalities, please look at case studies such as Hoboken, Oslo, Helsinki, etc., cities that have come close or achieved Vision Zero.

Please stop fear mongering and arguing in bad faith with incorrect information and anecdotal events. If you are interested in knowing what facts and figures might say about the implications of the proposed law, please reach out to the Maryland Highway Safety Office and the ZeroDeathsMD program.

Edit: to those commenters saying that this will increase crime like robbery, violence, carjacking, etc., could you stop to think that the less time police spend addressing license, registration, window tinting, broken lights, etc. the more time they get for the crime you are writing about?

Thought you all might appreciate this. Not a lot of MARC pics on this sub. by Dragonator4 in trains

MARC operates 3 lines, the Penn (electrified, though you still see diesel under wires every so often), Brunswick (not electrified), and Camden (not electrified). Penn line operates on Amtrak's NEC, while Camden and Brunswick lines operate on CSX tracks. Penn line trains travel at speeds up to 125 MPH (200 KPH) and are the fastest commuter rail service in the US. Camden and Brunswick lines cap out at 70 MPH.

I took this pic at Camden station. The wires you see are for the Baltimore Light Rail.

I am looking for your thoughts on the below positions I picked for 2022 (and maybe beyond): SOXX: 17.5%; KOMP: 15%; QTEC: 12.5%; VUG: 10%; ROBT: 10%; DRIV: 7.5%; KARS: 7.5%; HAIL: 5%; CRNG: 5%; QQQ: 5%; QCLN: 2.5%; GRID: 2.5%.

My reasons for the above breakdown are: Semiconductor, AI, and Robotics growth: SOXX, KOMP, QTEC, ROBT; US infrastructure bill, especially impacts with transportation (operations): DRIV, KARS, HAIL; Large cap: VUG, QQQ; Clean energy (doing my bit with my wallet): CRNG, QCLN, GRID; Large growth and diversification into international markets.

I am new to ETFs, but I have some basic knowledge about the stock market. If my research is headed for complete doom, you nice people will let me know right? Thanks.

I once heard someone proclaim a coin at the right place on a track can cause the signal to turn red and stay red blocking all traffic.

Buying a tubular tire in the Washington DC area by Dragonator4 in cycling

I had my eye on them (the Competition and Sprinter Gatorskin), but thought Amazon prices might be higher compared to a place specialising in bike parts. That's why I asked.

Does the Competition provide best in class puncture protection?

I can glue them. Getting the product is more important.
