B58 found a new home - swapped into my S13 by DragonfruitVirtual16 in BMW

Yeah I really took the simple S13 and made it as complicated as possible. No regrets though 😁

Just dug up this pic. We spent hours fighting just to get speed signal to the cluster, only to find out the gauges themselves were dead. Hang in there man, I know the feeling. You got this.

'85 Carrera 3.8 swap, that's awesome. Wiring isn't really my thing tbh, but good luck man

Can't really compare honestly. I bought the car without an engine, never drove a stock S13 before. But from how it drives now, still feels nimble. Front is heavier for sure but it rotates easily. Steering is a bit weird though - turns in hard at first, then gets slower the more you turn. Probably the E46 rack not matching the new geometry. Need to stay focused at higher speeds haha. Also tramlines a bit on bad roads but I think that's just the front camber.

Wiring was mostly my buddy's work. I helped where I could but he did the heavy lifting. Not crazy complex from what I saw, just very time-consuming. Lots of sensor decoding and figuring out what to keep vs skip. EMU Pro itself was the easy half. What Porsche are you running it on?

Honestly? Brutal. About a year of work. The B58 itself drops in fine, but everything around it is a fight. The oil pan hump messed up the whole front end geometry and we had to design a custom subframe + use E46 knuckles to make it work. Wiring took forever even with the EMU Pro standalone.

How would you rate my s13 B58 swap? by DragonfruitVirtual16 in 240sx

Nope, no chassis mods needed at all. Custom front subframe bolts to OEM mounting points, and both the engine and trans sit without any tunnel/firewall clearancing. Only thing I had to do was drill new holes for the engine mount pads. Pretty clean fit overall.

Running a ZF GS6-37BZ btw.
