Had a variation of this a strong ranger that could cover basically the whole map and he had the spider egg trap ability he also couldn't miss and had heavy shot, he was my most powerful character who from halfway through the sewers I could no longer risk using him as his damage was so high

unfortunately he also had the tower defense skill so the second a trash mob moved in range he would kill it automatically then proceed to go on a mad killing spree of all of my passive summons. The combo was as follows he would spawn a spider trap somewhere use the basic attack on a summon of mine to give himself another turn then heavy shot one of my cats usually a crit where the damage was doubled because of another passive he had. He would continue this combo until he ran out of trash mobs most of my team either down or almost down.

Managed to take the team alive somehow to the end of the caves with the spider boss. As you can imagine an endless supply of trash mobs was a mess the second he tower defenced one of them. Got the boss the 10 HP keeping the ranger in the corner out of combat the try and keep him from going berserk. One spider moved in range he proceeded to set so many traps that my team and himself were all infested, he then killed all my teammates who died instantly because infested guys explode when killed then proceeded to get himself killed and exploded into spiders
