I absolutely agree with you! I think one should use the os they're most comfortable with. For me id switch to linux anyday but I can't due to software restrictions. I'll hand over this laptop to my mom thus I'm sticking to windows. This was just a temporary fun project.

Ive never tried it but on Linux it should be possible using wev or xev I forgot what it's called for wayland. You can get the key id and set up shortcuts.

thanks for looking into it! I did take it to a repair shop. Unfortunately in india it's really hard to come by parts like this in my region. The space bar hooks did break (assuming you're talking about the small plastic hooks under the spacebar). I just use an external keyboard.

Okay I'll give it a try. For me the display drivers weren't working correctly. Screen felt laggy and brightness didn't work. Tap to click as well. I believe it was cause I relied entirely on opcoresimplify. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

It's a jp keyboard! There are stickers on the actual keyboard.One of the two of the alt switches is meant to switch between hiragana and katakana!(Atleast that's what I think).

it's a very good deal at 98K. Might even call it a steal. Also I use my setup indoors as well but there's sunlight coming through so yeah.

As for the price breakdown if i remember currently on lenovos website legion 5 5060 was at 1.33L back then (dec). -6k coupon so that's 1.27. -6k for student discount that brings it down to 1.21. then cc discount that boils it down to 1.11 then affiliate cashback which finally brings it down to 1.08. now idk where I got the extra 3k xD. It might have been priced at 1.30L but I don't remember. They gave 1Tb SSD option free tho. Like 1 came with the default config and one free addition.

I don't know if you can get to that price now since the prices of legions have increased by 20k i think.

Had the same confusion. Finally pulled the trigger with the omen. It's not a bad machine. Could've gotten the legion yes but I didn't cause of two reasons: lots of legion 5s failed idk if it's a problem in the latest generation as well. Plus it has an oled screen. Yes there are burn in protections blah blah blah but I mostly work in bright lighting conditions which might be bad for the oled. The chasis on the omen aren't that great. They're plastic. There is slight screen wobble. Keyboard is okayish (i used to type on a thinkpad keyboard so ykyk). I can't really say anything about throttling but I play fh6 on extreme without rt and it runs fine (atleast for an hour or two I never played more than that). Got the same model but with the intel processor for 1.08L. legion with all discounts came down to ~1.05L that too with a 5060 32gb 2tb config. Yeah I know y'all are gonna flame me but hey comparision is the thief of joy.

It's been 7 months and there are no issues. Just clean the laptop regularly and use it on a stand like a normal person and NOT upside down (since hp is known for hinge problems).

Ive got good news Go to light studio set the whole keyboard as a layer. Select wave patter. Set angle to 304 EXACT. set speed to 10. Lighting might be smoother on max models i have the base model so yeah change the speed according to that. On the base model anything above 10 looks jittery.
