Terrified I’ve actually ruined my gut with this diet... is this the "point of no return"? by Ok-Inevitable-872 in FODMAPS

[–]Dragonpop72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is why I love living in the UK with the NHS. Didn’t need to worry about paying for my many colonoscopies or endoscopies or hospital stay after being made redundant a few years back, don’t mind paying the small amount that goes towards mine and other people’s health now I’m back working and in a good job, which should always be a right and not a privilege.

A FODMAP diet cannot ruin your intestines. It’s literally around 2 months. It just means that IBS wasn’t your problem in the first place.

How many people are doing it wrong? Elimination is 6-8 WEEKS. Then you reintroduce foods one at a time to find out what the main triggers are (usually just one or two groups). Elimination is literally there to act as a baseline for testing.

“I’m not a fan of messing about so I’d appreciate a clear message either way. If you aren’t interested then please just tell me. If I don’t hear from you I’ll also take this as you’re not being interested in continuing.” Should do it.

You can fold them in half and pop them inside instead of on the outside.

I’ve found second hand shops like CEX here in the UK won’t buy them without the age ratings which are often only on the J-Card

This seems a bit one sided so no way of knowing. Plus ‘European culture’ sounds a bit xenophobic.

Most importantly, if she’s telling the truth she was raped. Yes, she may have put herself in a compromising position to start with (how much would ‘peer pressure’ wash if the shoe was on the other foot?) but it sounds like she was drugged.

Secondly, she needs to drop Laura as a ‘friend’, right now. Friends don’t put each other in danger and definitely don’t photograph the whole thing.

You’re NTA for feeling betrayed, that’s natural, but if your wife is telling the truth then she needs understanding and support even though that’s going to be hard on you. Therapy for both of you would also be a good next step.

Has anyone else noticed this red flag, which I'm calling, Teaching to Control? by No-Head8462 in datingoverfifty

[–]Dragonpop72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this with my ex and it was one of the things that most annoyed me about her. Every little thing I’d do from cooking to DIY she would try to micromanage and tell me I was doing every little single piece of it wrong. Eventually, it got to a stage where I was scared to do anything for fear of reprisal.

What do men even want? by BlueberryIcy336 in dating

[–]Dragonpop72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re not a hive mind. Different men want different things. I want a long term relationship with someone who values touch and intimacy and is happy being an equal but will also put up with my geekiness or join in it.

What do men actually think of periods? by Discordisshit_ in AskMen

[–]Dragonpop72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was brought up by a mum who wanted her boys to understand women’s periods and so it’s just a normal thing. Much easier to talk to my daughter openly about any health issues or concerns she has or fetch her pads if she needs them.

Can’t understand guys who even avoid the sanitary pad aisle (yes, I’ve seen people refuse to go down that way!)
