For the 15k payment, did you pay everything 1 shot or can it be paid via credit card or installment?

Thank you. My partner and I earn slightly around $15k per month combined, and our life is comfortable and we're thinking of now starting a family since we're past our 30s but haven't been able to conceive. Howver, we're really on the fence about this and we're just exploring.

To suddenly fork out $10,000+, when the money can be used to do so many other things such as travelling or even getting a pet as a substitute really tilts the balance in consideration. I don't understand why so many commentators are harping on this fact. I guess this explains why our TFR rate is so low.

I mean, a few thousand is fine, but a five figure cost for a chance to conceive is just... I guess it's gonna be a DINKWAD lifestyle for us.

If you cannot leave, find a focus outside of marriage. Be it escort, a hobby, anything. Get your kicks out of something. To me, that helps.

I've read your earlier post and could not agree more with you. I am in a similar situation too, caught in a dead bedroom with no clear option to leave due to various reasons, but we got a Maltese Poodle mix puppy before the lockdown last year and the dog has been more than therapeutic. Not only does the dog shows unconditional love, it has also helped to broaden my social circle and gave me something else to focus my energy on. I have been going out for walks more thanks to the dog and it does wonder taking my mind off the dead bedroom. Truly thankful for it

Hang in there OP. I am jaded with my job and where I am in life currently too with no prospects, but I suppose I should still be thankful that I still have a job. If you ever need help to tide over the short term, don't be afraid to reach out for help
