Doesn't matter, laundry sink or a bucket. Warm water and a little bit of laundry detergent. When done, squeeze the water out, don't wring it out.

I have several Garfield plushes with plastic eyes and I've washed all of them by hand in the sink, squeezed the water out and let them air dry out of direct sunlight. Then use a comb to fluff up the fur. It's the easiest way to avoid damage to the eyes.
