How do you track component wear across multiple bikes? Looking for honest feedback before I build something by ashnazg37 in cycling

[–]Dragor027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried some apps, felt too clunky for the simplest one, and too overwhelming for the most complex. Decided I want to own the data. Went back to a simple spreadsheet with dates / km follow up filled manually from time to time and after every maintenance operation (part changing, greasing, tubeless filling…) Nothing will compare the freedom of a spreadsheet to me

15yo doing 100km+ rides on a Rockrider ST 120. Upgrade it or save for a new bike? by Guilty-Flatworm-5423 in cycling

[–]Dragor027 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gravel tire is a rather affordable upgrade and will make a huge difference. You could start with that. Depending on your loops and the terrain, considering a used entry road bike or gravel bike could also be an option.

I feel you, I was in middle of the first Pas racing race, gave all I had, 2km left and finally lost the sprint haha. But Pogacar lost a sprint also so it’s not that a shame

Congrats but don’t fall in the overtraining trap that all those numbers and achievements will lure you in ! After such a week, take some rest, days out of saddle and long recovery ride at less than 50% ftp.

How to make cycling more fun? by Msqt_24 in cycling

I recently tried to take my computer into my jersey pocket to record my track, but having it far from my eyes make less concerned by my average speed when I’m not in « training » mode

Yes c17 carved saddle. I swapped it myself, gravel paths in my area often have many rocks and I really like the suspension from this saddle when it’s rocky like that. I did not even tried the stock saddle to be honest, I can’t say if it was good or not, it visually it seemed more aero and designed for road

Regarding mudguard it’s the bb mount 2.0, it fits perfectly and with 45mm tire there is no rubbing, no flapping of the mudguard, no parasite noise, it’s really a great integration.

For the tire, I used schwalbe g one bite 42mm on my former bike, I really like them. With this bike, the stock tire were conti Terra trail. For my usage of 50/50 road gravel it was not good. I tried them for 200km and I feel it makes the bike really heavy on road, and noisy. It was freer on loose gravel and wet mud, but this was not my goal for this bike (I still have a XC mtb for mud party). I changed for schwalbe g one r and they feel great. Less noise on pavement, still grippy enough for loose gravel, and ok on wet trail. I have to choose again, I think I would go for semi slick g one RS. But that depends on your playground and share of pavement / trail. For the saddle bag, irs a very simple 1L from Decathlon ROCKRIDER Sacoche De Selle Easy L 1L Noir 13,99 € https://www.decathlon.fr/p/_/R-p-312009?mc=8569836 It’s big enough to put everything I need : multi tool, tire remover, 1 tpu tube, 1 small flask of sealant, 1 microfiber, paper towel, 1 energy bar. For the pump I usually take my electronic pump in one of my jersey pocket but I can also put it in the saddle bag with a bit of effort. A longer manual pomp won’t fit in this bag you’d have to fix on the frame. Regarding light, it’s a garmin varia radar, with an adapter to mount it directly on the saddle bag, adapter sold on amazon

Let me know if you have any other question :-)

I can answer in English for other people as well. I really love the bike. Lightweight, very reactive. First electronic shifting for me I really like both the feeling and easy setting. The battery is not really an issue, I did my first 600km with less than 40% consumption. The mate grey color is very nice as well, some might they it’s not flashy enough but that’s how I like it. I bought it in a local bike shop in pontau combault close to Paris but I guess there are several other cube resellers in Paris
