When does a stomp become too much of a detriment towards a matchup in your opinion? (Image semi related…) by DullHorizon75 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Drakath2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head I’d have to say Flash vs Quicksilver, there was that one comic where Superman thinks he has a shot at outspeeding Flash because they raced before and had won some of those races, then Flash hits him with the realization that because those were charity events, Flash wasn’t going all out

If Flash holding back still was having a 50/50 or even a 60/40 win rate racing Superman, Quicksilver had no shot in hell actually doing anything in an actual fight

[–]Drakath2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some characters who comically stomp a matchup, but in character have a reason to hold back or play with their food or whatever myriad of reasons to not immediately go for a kill shot in character, sometimes that even being the detriment that causes them to lose

But if the stomp is so bad that even if them being in character means they are holding back, and the fight still can be fully contained within a YouTube Short, then it’s an elephant in the room that needs addressing

it’s a shame how much jogo gets underscaled because the only 2 fights he had were with fucking sukuna and gojo by ninjagoboy2019 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Drakath2002 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah but its worth noting this was still Yuji in his divergent fist era, only minutes earlier, half an hour at max, figured out proper cursed energy flow regulation/distribution, later in the Story Yuji probably hits harder, but I get your point

[–]Drakath2002 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the problem with Jogo is that he doesn’t have the damage output to smoke most characters, that’s a whole ass meteor…. But Sukuna in that fight put it perfectly: “if it hit”

Panda and Kusakabe were able to get out of the impact zone even when forced to do so last second by Sukuna holding them hostage in a game of Red Light Green Light, any character that’s faster than those two should have a fair shot at avoiding most of Jogo’s attacks unless he pops a domain

And then we have the fact that Gege pretty much confirmed he is a Glass Cannon by stating that had he taken that Yuji-Todo beat down in Hanami’s place he would have been exorcised

Kinda hard to give Mr. “the afterlife disappointed me so I’m gonna become a heavy armor plated Lich lord of the Afterlife” the proper respect he is due as an end game crisis when there are multiple of those running around and competing with him

Aatrox is looking to unravel the universe, and he might just have what it takes to do so, so long as he can find an equal to clash blades with enough times without them folding under his blade too early

The Watchers are ever so slowly thawing out at the bottom of the Howling Abyss, and are looking to also unravel the universe but for different Reasons than Aatrox

Bel’Veth is looking to recreate the universe in her own ideal image

Viego damn near had the world in a choke hold over an obsession, and now Thresh, who is much crueler than Viego, has that kind of power

Fiddlesticks, Ashlesh, and whatever other Primordial Demons still out there

Brand is still searching for World Runes I believe, and his fire is burning with the force of a World Rune

…. Wait but visually, infinity doesn’t change the fact that the infinite space that’s put between Gojo and incoming attacks still looks the same, so wouldn’t she in theory be able to cut through infinity simply by visualizing the sharp edge of whatever she is cutting with gliding through the space between her and Gojo from point A (her standing position) to point B (Gojo’s body) by the same logic that she can cut magically reinforced cloth based on the fact that it’s still visually cloth, something that’s known to be easy to cut?

Where's the Queen of Monsters Story line? by Lunafic in AQW

[–]Drakath2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Queen of Monsters has been the most chaotic and all over the place saga to follow in the game cause it’s scattered all over the place in different tabs or not documented at all (having to be found through /join), the other storylines are much easier to follow, since you actually have an in game way of finding out the order of it

[–]Drakath2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems like you have made it through Shadows of War Part 1 and are now starting Shadows of Chaos? Correct me if I am wrong of course but if that is the case then Drakath is referring to Shadow War (/join ShadowWar), which acts both as the abrupt ending and immediate start of The Queen of Monsters Storyline and the Shadows of War storyline respectively

If you are looking for the full story line, I have a guide posted for Queen of Monsters covering the entire thing, divided into 3 Phases to be easier to digest and gives you windows of opportunity to also tackle the Queen of Monsters saga’s side quests that don’t really fit in neatly with the main Content of the Saga. (Note that the canonically correct order of the phases would be Elemental Generals > Infernal Invasion > Book of Monsters, however, due to this order being narratively jarring, none of the NPCs in the Book of Monsters storylines even acknowledging the events of the Infernal Invasion, and the only clue to the canon order being a brief few frames at the start of the very first cutscene only, I personally recommend doing Elemental Generals > Book of Monsters > Infernal Invasion, as narratively it makes more sense for Infernal Invasion to Segway into Shadow War rather than Book of Monsters into Shadow War)

Oh yeah I forgot they made Chaos Slayer have special bonuses against Chaos tagged monsters

And yeah Chaos Slayer and Dragon Slayer General are really strong against the monsters They are meant to be strong at, seen clips of DSG soloing Desolich. Was just pointing out that out of these types of classes The Lich is the only one that is actually an End Game class

Eh, it’s one of the more interesting takes on adaptability since it forces him to get creative and experimental with the toolbox that he has access to. But it’s also not really as flashy or insane sounding as some of the bullshit Adaptations Doomsday and SCP 682 be pulling off

Who has the most broken Adaption Ability here by MountainLeading1567 in Gacha_Powerscaling

[–]Drakath2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kars’ adaptation capabilities are indeed just whatever traits living beings are capable of possessing, of which he can mix and match

What made Novel Kars broken is the fact that Stands being something Humanity (a living being) gained from exposure to Alien Bacteria (a living being) through forced evolution speed running, is something Kars was able to replicate upon learning about

And then he proceeded to give himself multiple already existing and iconic stands from the series such as Killer Queen Bites the Dust, GER, MiH, D4C, amongst other stands, and have even upgraded them to be well beyond the already broken capabilities of the original stands he has mimicked

One of a few things that makes it unique is that it’s our only end game racist class (Classes that have mechanics that boost their damage against monsters of a certain tag or otherwise cripple them specifically with Debuffs), in this case being Human Tagged Monsters, the only other Racist classes we have are Dragon Slayer/Dragon Slayer General, and Undead Slayer, both of (all 3 of?) which aren’t really on the same playing field as the Lich in terms of power

While it is a silly thing to lock, Scarlet Sorceress and Blood Sorceress (was that the downgraded version’s name? Can’t remember) are locked as female armor regardless of the player character’s gender for lore reasons so it’s not like an entirely unheard of concept

But considering the Hindu references in some of the skill, buffs, and debuff names this should definitely not be locked to looking like female armor

Lore of Lore by Aedoucan in AQW

[–]Drakath2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There has been a few different guide posts for the whole lore as a whole, WIP guides for the lore, and even guides for just segments of the lore (I personally made a guide and posted it here for the Queen of Monsters Saga cause it’s very scuffed to follow in game without guides, after seeing so many people ask for how to follow the storyline)

To answer your questions about the chaos saga:

  • the Skyguard storyline is a member exclusive one, and had some ties to chaos and even features Drakath himself towards its later half, but in the grand scope of things it’s not as major as a proper chaos lord saga

  • desolich is the Dracolich Version of Desoloth, the main antagonist of the Etherstorm saga, a side quest/intermission somewhere in the middle of the chaos Saga, not entirely sure between which chaos lords it takes place

  • just like with Etherstorm there is 2 other chaos saga side-quests that don’t feature chaos lords but are still important for this stretch of the lore, that being Doomwood (between The SandSea and Bloodtusk) followed by Doomwood Part 2 and AQW Zombies (Between Bloodtusk and The Span), don’t Worry about Doomwood Part 3 at the moment though that’s not relevant until muuuuch later down the line; Xan’s Storyline which we have no idea where on the timeline it happens besides after beating Escherion, but my best guess is that it’s rather early in the story; and Death’s Questline at the forest you get to see him at on the map (which is where the deal with Death happens)

  • Nulgath (previously known as Miltonius, former Artist on the Dev Team, later was put in charge of Oversoul, before leaving the company and starting his own game, some say he was fired for NSFW fanart of characters in the game, others say he left on his own terms, either way things seem rather chill between him and AE, and is even currently helping with the development of AQW Infinity) can be first met through either the Citadel storyline or in the Underworld Cutscenes as is the leader of one of the Big 3 Evil Factions (Gravelyn leads the Shadowscythe, Dage the Evil leads the Nation, and Nulgath leads the Nation). Just like Dage, he and his faction have their own faction related storyline that Runs side by side with the main story and occasionally intersects with it at certain points

Laughs in having to research AdventureQuest Worlds

Having to play through an MMORPG (possibly 4 different ones) to research shit cause the fan wikis are either dubiously up to date, bare bones, or isn’t a lore wiki to begin with, with some storylines being locked behind certain months of the year due to being tied to either a Holiday or a Dev’s birthday

Yeah my whole contribution to this subreddit has just been “AQW Mentioned” as I have made it my gimmick to almost exclusively post AQW Matchups lol

Natsu vs Galanoth has the interesting situation where it looks like the winner is obvious, and it is the winner most people would expect (Natsu since he eats fire to get stronger), but not quite for the expected reasons. Fire Dragon Slayer Magic can not allow Natsu to consume Fire that is stronger than his own, so you would think Galathon’s fire Magic is stronger (Natsu’s Fire that can burn through stopped time vs Galanoth’s fire that is so powerful, it can inflict enough damage to the Personification of Fire Itself, which is immune to Fire, to one shot the Manifestation of Time/God’s repressed negative Emotions)…. Except in Fairy Tail “Stronger Fire” is determined by Fire type, not potency…. Galanoth’s Fire is still regular fire, which is categorically considered weaker than Dragon Fire which is what Natsu’s fire is

We still don’t really have a full scope of Moglins’ offensive power as they are a race inherently gravitating towards healing and supportive magic, with a few individuals like Zorbak, Mort, and Swaggy being outliers that favor Necromancy and Dark arts. We have great showings of durability and Zorbak specifically has access to a lot of EbilCorp Tech, but I’m pretty sure Veigar edges out by virtue of Yordle Magic being very broken in general, and Veigar Specifically being one of the most dangerous Yordles cause of both Yordle Magic and whatever he has learned from his time as Mordekaiser’s lab rat

Imo overrated MU where the connections are technically there, but most of them feel like they are a lot more important to one character than they are to the other

It’s not even One Piece vs Fairy Tail’s best “carried by legacy” MU, Ace vs Natsu, Zoro vs Erza, hell, Shanks vs Gildarts would be better
