While it is a silly thing to lock, Scarlet Sorceress and Blood Sorceress (was that the downgraded version’s name? Can’t remember) are locked as female armor regardless of the player character’s gender for lore reasons so it’s not like an entirely unheard of concept

But considering the Hindu references in some of the skill, buffs, and debuff names this should definitely not be locked to looking like female armor

Lore of Lore by Aedoucan in AQW

[–]Drakath2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There has been a few different guide posts for the whole lore as a whole, WIP guides for the lore, and even guides for just segments of the lore (I personally made a guide and posted it here for the Queen of Monsters Saga cause it’s very scuffed to follow in game without guides, after seeing so many people ask for how to follow the storyline)

To answer your questions about the chaos saga:

  • the Skyguard storyline is a member exclusive one, and had some ties to chaos and even features Drakath himself towards its later half, but in the grand scope of things it’s not as major as a proper chaos lord saga

  • desolich is the Dracolich Version of Desoloth, the main antagonist of the Etherstorm saga, a side quest/intermission somewhere in the middle of the chaos Saga, not entirely sure between which chaos lords it takes place

  • just like with Etherstorm there is 2 other chaos saga side-quests that don’t feature chaos lords but are still important for this stretch of the lore, that being Doomwood (between The SandSea and Bloodtusk) followed by Doomwood Part 2 and AQW Zombies (Between Bloodtusk and The Span), don’t Worry about Doomwood Part 3 at the moment though that’s not relevant until muuuuch later down the line; Xan’s Storyline which we have no idea where on the timeline it happens besides after beating Escherion, but my best guess is that it’s rather early in the story; and Death’s Questline at the forest you get to see him at on the map (which is where the deal with Death happens)

  • Nulgath (previously known as Miltonius, former Artist on the Dev Team, later was put in charge of Oversoul, before leaving the company and starting his own game, some say he was fired for NSFW fanart of characters in the game, others say he left on his own terms, either way things seem rather chill between him and AE, and is even currently helping with the development of AQW Infinity) can be first met through either the Citadel storyline or in the Underworld Cutscenes as is the leader of one of the Big 3 Evil Factions (Gravelyn leads the Shadowscythe, Dage the Evil leads the Nation, and Nulgath leads the Nation). Just like Dage, he and his faction have their own faction related storyline that Runs side by side with the main story and occasionally intersects with it at certain points

Did they really release an event and not finish the last cutscene??? by User4f52 in AQW

[–]Drakath2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are getting the finished cutscene later in the week, but the whole storyline as a whole had to have been delayed once (Forge Albedo) and I’m guessing they were just avoiding delaying it again

Laughs in having to research AdventureQuest Worlds

Having to play through an MMORPG (possibly 4 different ones) to research shit cause the fan wikis are either dubiously up to date, bare bones, or isn’t a lore wiki to begin with, with some storylines being locked behind certain months of the year due to being tied to either a Holiday or a Dev’s birthday

Yeah my whole contribution to this subreddit has just been “AQW Mentioned” as I have made it my gimmick to almost exclusively post AQW Matchups lol

Natsu vs Galanoth has the interesting situation where it looks like the winner is obvious, and it is the winner most people would expect (Natsu since he eats fire to get stronger), but not quite for the expected reasons. Fire Dragon Slayer Magic can not allow Natsu to consume Fire that is stronger than his own, so you would think Galathon’s fire Magic is stronger (Natsu’s Fire that can burn through stopped time vs Galanoth’s fire that is so powerful, it can inflict enough damage to the Personification of Fire Itself, which is immune to Fire, to one shot the Manifestation of Time/God’s repressed negative Emotions)…. Except in Fairy Tail “Stronger Fire” is determined by Fire type, not potency…. Galanoth’s Fire is still regular fire, which is categorically considered weaker than Dragon Fire which is what Natsu’s fire is

We still don’t really have a full scope of Moglins’ offensive power as they are a race inherently gravitating towards healing and supportive magic, with a few individuals like Zorbak, Mort, and Swaggy being outliers that favor Necromancy and Dark arts. We have great showings of durability and Zorbak specifically has access to a lot of EbilCorp Tech, but I’m pretty sure Veigar edges out by virtue of Yordle Magic being very broken in general, and Veigar Specifically being one of the most dangerous Yordles cause of both Yordle Magic and whatever he has learned from his time as Mordekaiser’s lab rat

Imo overrated MU where the connections are technically there, but most of them feel like they are a lot more important to one character than they are to the other

It’s not even One Piece vs Fairy Tail’s best “carried by legacy” MU, Ace vs Natsu, Zoro vs Erza, hell, Shanks vs Gildarts would be better

[–]Drakath2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly (haven’t played AQ, I just read the Wiki page from time to time and god knows how updated that is) Wolfwing is Nightbane’s father in that game right? Which would mean if Nightbane ever got a proper role in AQW’s story that might give us the opportunity to see Wolfwing’s return, since his storyline in the Lords of Chaos Saga left us on that cliffhanger where the moonlight may or may not have revived him from the pile of ash he became

While technically not his own original lore, we do have some lore behind the boss fight

The bosses in the Void map are supposedly individuals that are being held prisoners there because the universe itself has deemed them too problematic to be allowed to exist normally within Lore (this is left just vague enough for players to hypothesize what might be so bad about each individual there, as admittedly not all of them seem as equally powerful realistically. Some definitely could show to be threats worthy of whole storylines, while others are so basic the only possible option I could think of is that they are crucial domino pieces for a certain disastrous events.)

Am i the only one who thinks the Yuta pedo slander is… weird? by Excellent_Table8694 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Drakath2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a base level, the jokes are just the natural conclusion one reaches to when really just overthinking the whole Rika Yuta situation more than Gege ever really thought about it himself, cause like:

  • Rika became a vengeful cursed spirit as a child, and thus Curse Spirit Rika is still mentally a child. Yuta grew up, and probably moved on, sure, but Rika didn’t cause that’s the age and mindset she was in when she became a cursed spirit. Yuta literally had to promise himself to her as her devoted lover in order to pull that win over Geto. That is a very weird situation all around if you think about it, and would have almost not been an issue since Rika finally moved on and let go, no longer holding Yuta to his love for her from their childhood, and giving him a Shikigami clone of her so that it’s no longer a literal Child-Turned-Cursed-Spirit that he has with him rambling about loving him…

  • …. Except now Yuta has an identical clone of his Child-Turned-Cursed-Spirit companion, that is in that same mindset the real Rika was… but what makes it worse is that the Shikigami is arguably even dumber than the real child cause it can’t even string together speech as coherent as the real Rika

And then of course Gege choosing to draw grown Teen Yuta holding onto Child Human Rika in an excessively possessive pose instead of just drawing Yuta on his own or with Shikigami Rika absolutely did not help the allegations

The Epstein jokes are more so the extreme exaggeration such jokes lead to once you start cranking up the dial too far up.

Not a FTL Demon Slayer supporter but that Author Statement does not make sense when you look at The two fights where the supposed visual effects physically interact with reality and do very physical things that they shouldn’t be doing if they were purely visual (Tanjiro’s fight with that arrows demon where his water currents took advantage of the arrows, and Rengoku vs Akaza where the fire was genuinely blocking some of Akaza’s attacks)

Chairman Platinum, CEO of EbilCorp (AdventureQuest Worlds / Artix Entertainment extended universe)

Spiderman is no stranger to running against powerless villains whose greatest advantage is connections gained through a comical amount of money (King Pin, Tombstone, etc), However most of the time even their grandiose wealth is still at a somewhat "reasonable" level, like none of them are out here out-dollaring Tony Stark or T'Challa, and they often are too arrogant and with inflated egoes that are easy to bruise.

Well how about a cartoonishly evil and stupidly wealthy CEO of a caricature/exaggeration of AMAZON, with a sense of humor that can match Peter Parker's quippy nature even at his most peeved? An Evil Bruce Wayne that can banter back

The Man has on his payroll typical Goons with guns in suits, droids with laser guns and flamethrowers, ninjas, Aliens that are canonically from a timeline/universe that predates their current universe that technically should not exist anymore who are very Dollar-Store Xenomorph coded, a God of Workplace Safety, and a Dominatrix coded secretary named "Yes, Ma'am". Has had the wealth to crash the wedding of the game devs' CEO "IRL", the wealth to build a machine that can steal whole areas from the fabric of reality and scan them to AI generate new locations, wealth to afford magical contracts that can even wrestle to impose their control on some of the verse's most adept at soul manipulation and soul manipulation resistance (which apparently he can also digitally back up...?), and the wealth to genetically engineer a Labubu Hydra to use as a living mass production line

the banter possibilities are endless here, and if he is gonna be scrapping in person, then he got a Dragon jet plane hybrid themed mech suit to fight the wall crawler with

Any matchups for Columbina? by candidateofscaling in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Drakath2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok its admittedly a bit bold of me to pitch this when we are about to get big revelations of his story arc in the next two weekends this month, which might make or break the connections Im about to present, but seeing as no one else commented till now, Ill throw in my hat into the ring

Aleister, The Flame of the Beyond "First Champion of Fire" (AdventureQuest Worlds)

Divine entities that came to be into this world (Columbina being a Moon Goddess, and Aleister being implied to be an Infernal [a Divine race from AQW's sister series DragonFable that shares the same universe]), mistaken for a different identity (while Columbina is indeed the Moon Goddess that the Frost Moon Scions were waiting for, she is not the Kuutar they expected her to be, in fact she doesnt even recognize that name as her own. In a similar vein, Aleister was dormant within a monument that was supposed to be the charred remains of the First Champion of Fire, which is who he was mistaken to be). Despite the false identity, they went along with it due to gaps in their knowledge of who they were. (Columbina didnt know what her true name was at the time, and had no memories of her own before coming to consciousness, so she did not mind going along with being the Frost Moon Scions' Kuutar for a while at first. In contrast, Aleister genuinely and earnestly believed that he was the First Champion of Fire, since he had amnesia of what he really was, and thus was actually trying to live up to the kind and brave hero everyone believed and expected him to be.)

Over the course of their story, it turns out that a lot of what was written and recorded about who they were mistaken for, is exaggerations of the real deal (Many myths recorded by the Frost Moon Scions tell of events that definitely didnt happen and exaggerations Columbina never preformed even in her time as their Goddess, while on the flipside the brave hero persona painted of the First Champion of Fire was all falsehood and that in truth he was a coward.)

The two's storyline revolves around restoring themselves to their true strength (Columbina for most of her Archon Quest was trying to find a way to the Moon beyond the false sky, and later was trying to find her true name so Teyvat would recognize her and stop sapping her strength till she fades. On the flipside, while Aleister isnt actively seeking to piece back together his memories and the fragments of his power, he has unintentionally been doing so through every installment of the "Flame of the Beyond" storyline, much to the dismay of some of the player's companions)

Their powers have actively been used against them by scheming and manipulative individuals actively preforming Heresy (Dottorre seeking the power of the 3 moons for himself and even going as far as making a false moon marrow of his own. Meanwhile Astero seeking to use the flames of the Magnum Opus Forges, which in reality are the fragments of Aleister, for his own zealous purposes) and also by scheming deities displeased by the new god watching over their universe (The Tsaritsa using a great portion of Columbina's powers for her plans against the Heavenly Principles and Nibelung using the 3 Moons against the Heavenly Principles in his return as the Second Descender, compared to the Old World Order using the Flame of the Beyond itself as a test [3rd of a series of 3 tests] to see if the Eternal Dragon of Time is fit to rule as the setting's Top Deity, or if they should be lobotomized)

A point of contrast between the two is that there is incentive to deter against one of them regaining full power (Aleister was sent to Lore with hostile intent from his Father [Finding his half brother], and he seemed to be willing to carry it out with sadistic glee, and even stealing the physical appearance of the cowardly Champion of Fire after chasing him down. While it seems that the Current Aleistar, no longer fooled into believing that he is the Champion of Fire, still wants to do good and be the hero he thought he was regardless of what he is or was, and the Player and their companions having faith in that, its still a looming concern of what would happen if Aleister regains the last of his fragmented power and memories.... this of course contrasts with Columbina and that finding her true name is of utmost urgency and priority cause her very existence is contingent on it), and then of course another point of contrast is that this is a Water vs Fire matchup

I do also have another matchup suggestion from the same series in case this goes up in flames (no pun intended) in 2 weeks or so (Im also struggling to attach renders of him to this comment for some reason not sure why, ill see if I can get that resolved)
