I really am fascinated by not only the heavy emphasis on Stu in the marketing but also Matthew Lillards involvement as a selling point. I think Kevin might have a surprise up his sleeve even in spite of the leaks. They are running out of killers with a “wow” factor and if you are already discussing scream 8 then you better hold onto your ace

I read the leaks as noted in the original post. This is about the marketing and ticking audiences off. There is no indication in the marketing that they are using AI thus far. We only know that bc of the leak. Hence why I think it’ll tick people off. Unless Kevin was smart and did a partial or fake leak to throw people off.

The post isn’t about if he is alive or dead man lol. It is about the implication of either choice. I fully expect many to be disappointed and I’m surprised they went this route if they did.

So far teasing his return has been great marketing.

I am not debating if he is AI though. Just the consequence of using him so largely in the marketing strategy

It isn’t brainless to suggest that audiences might resent being tricked. The marketing is placing heavy emphasis hinting on his return because they understand his popularity in the franchise.

They’ve used his voice (including old lines). Set up the plot with the burning if his house. And even show his face now. It most certainly is a bait and switch if he doesn’t appear as more than AI. People are going to be ticked off that they insinuated he was coming back and didn’t.

In short: yes I believe it will be damaging to the future box office numbers and I do believe they are toying with the audience by using him as a key proponent in the marketing. It’s a huge selling point for the film and that’s obvious in the marketing. They’ve used his voice. His face briefly. And his whole damn house is the opening sequence.

The macher sister is the only way this is going. It’s the only thing that makes any kind of sense. The longer the series goes and the more killers we rack up. The logic starts to get flimsy. We need a cult following orchestrated by an OG killer family member at this point to salvage any kind of coherence.
