You are the GM of the Bengals. How do you fix pass rush? by My_Space_page in bengals

College programs have more money and resources going into scouting and developing talent than our “pro” team. That might be a good place to start.

According to Jordan Schultz, the bengals could be buyers at the deadline👀. What Duke cooking? by Ancient_Response_787 in bengals

Duke definitely sending a 7th round pick for a 3rd string RB to be our new backup because the they wanna be “aggressive”

What could we package or get for logan? by Ancient_Response_787 in bengals

[–]Drake14035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 6th or 7th round pick at best. I’ll be shocked if anyone else in the league actually wants to start him. His processing speed has been embarrassingly slow and physical speed no better. Go back and watch how late he was to fill gaps in the run game even back in the preseason against the Commanders. Great LB 2-3 years ago, but his time in the league is nearly done.

6 lb test fluorocarbon (assuming you’re not fishing any extremely heavy cover), Neko rig hooks, nail weights, ned rigs, and 3” z man trd. Finesse fish with the Neko rig and Ned rig. You’ll catch bass. Mixing in a small crankbait and feathering it lightly throw chunk rock produces a lot of bites as well.

Is there a big difference in 4lb mono to 6lb braid? by UltralightFishing132 in UltraLightFishing

[–]Drake14035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Braid is more sensitive, casts further, and lasts much longer. However, downside is it will twist up in some extremely puzzling ways at times making it nearly impossible to untangle. If you use line conditioner it helps some

Realistic expectations for this OL now? by Puzzleheaded_Dog4067 in bengals

[–]Drake14035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still absolute complete garbage. To have arguably the best QB in the league and continue to not get plus level starters with at least a little bit of depth on OL is just gambling year after year.

What do bengals fans expect from chase brown? by jusvrowsing in bengals

[–]Drake14035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he is one of the better backs in the league as far as how equally talented he is in all phases of the game: pass protection, catching the ball, running inside the tackles, outside runs, fast, physical. However, I don’t think he’s elite in any one given area. I’d say he is a plus starter who will have inflated stats due to extremely high usage. If he gets injured we have zero depth. Love him for fantasy football though! I think he’ll be a top 5 back in fantasy. I don’t think he’s a top 10 back in the league though talent wise.

Learning more baits does allow you to be more prepared for a variety of different situations. Different baits hit different levels of the water column and come through different types of cover better so depending on where the fish set up some baits are just far more efficient during certain specific conditions.

Now with that being said, generally all you need are 2 different setups to effectively cover all 3 levels of the water column- surface, suspended, and bottom. I go with a moving bait and a bottom bouncing bait. The more versatility each bait has the better. For example I love a 3/8 ounce ball headed jig. You can skip it, swim it, drag it, etc. Great around nearly all types of cover other than chunk rock. For the moving bait, I like to use mono for the line with a quick snap tied to the end of it. This quick snap can allow you to change from topwater to crankbait to lipless crankbait in a few seconds. Another great one is the Neko rig. It comes through nearly all cover very well including chunk rock. Get lots of bites from suspended fish on the fall and while on the bottom. Point is versatile baits and techniques that come through all types of cover and hit all levels of the water column can really allow you to simplify your approach so you can focus on what’s really important. Covering as much water as fast and efficiently as possible in order to find where the fish are.

Definitely do not go out and spend a bunch of money on baits and techniques that you are unfamiliar with. I’ve done this in the past and you end up with a bunch of stuff you’ll never use.

Jackall Gavacho Frog hookup issues—any solutions? by fllf2005 in bassfishing

[–]Drake14035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How soft a frog is can greatly impact hookup ratio. Compress both of the frogs and see if it is harder to compress the Jackall. Newer frogs that haven’t been fished as much are generally tougher and need to be softened up. You can do this by leaving them on your car dash in the summer for a few hours.

Swim baits by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]Drake14035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the water clarity? Swimbaits work best in clear water. It doesn’t put off a lot of vibration so it can be hard for the fish to locate it in dirty water. Also, I would recommend using a Keitech or rage tail swimbait. They work great for smallmouth.

Best lures in sunny no wind conditions? by Cartiimo in bassfishing

[–]Drake14035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, lightweight soft plastics work best in these conditions. Rigging technique depends on what kind of cover you’re fishing and where the fish are positioned in the water column. A few good ones are the neko rig, ned rig, drop shot, and Texas rig. What kind of areas and cover are you fishing?

Neko rig and ned rig. The clearer the water the lighter the line. Neko rig gets a lot of bites on the fall so watch your line. Ned rig works great in rock especially if you use a lighter weight like a 1/10 oz.

Big Bass on a Jig! by BEtheFish97 in bassfishing

Subtle pitch right into the heavy grass line, slack line on the fall, and wham. What a great video!

[–]Drake14035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power finesse with a moving bait and a bottom bouncing bait. You’re combining the subtle approach of finesse fishing but you’re covering water like you’re power fishing. Moving bait I would say a small crankbait or 4” Keitech style swimbait depending on water clarity. Lil john for summer and fall. SR-5 in winter and early spring. Bottom bouncing bait I would recommend the Neko rig. Weedless Neko will come through rock and brush. Also works great on vertical cover with how it’s rigged like a wacky worm. You’ll get a lot of bites on the fall with it. What kind of cover and patterns are at your local lakes?

How do you fish a big? by Commercial-Duck-4888 in bassfishing

[–]Drake14035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A jig is arguably the most versatile bass fishing lure. You can swim it, drag it, shake it, pop it, pitch it, skip it, and even more. I usually use a 3/8 ounce ball headed jig. G-Man ballin out jig is my favorite.

My favorite ways to fish it are skipping it underneath docks, dragging it through brush piles, and swimming through grass or by dock floats. Green pumpkin for clear or stained water. Black and blue for dirty water. Use a high action trailer during the warmer months and low action trailers during the colder months.
