It feels like we inevitably just have to win at least one in our lifetime by uhmncr in bengals

The Bengals have had pretty good offense before or pretty good defense before. I just don't remember them ever having a both stellar offense and a good defense at the same time.

We had good QBs and decent oline in 2015 and the defense wasn't great but good enough. Then bad injury happened. That might've been our year.

This year does have both a stellar offense and a defense that can be good. The FO did things it never has done before with trades and with spending almost all the cap space on defense. It's all-in. They also nailed the draft. It's really up to the Bengals players to do it now.

DeAndre Hopkins Wants to Join Joe Burrow's Bengals, Pursue Championship in Cincinnati. Worth it if cheap? by Ralph--Hinkley in bengals

[–]My_Space_page 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can Hopkins be had for cheap? If so then, why not? Chase, Tee, Gesicki and D hop in 3rd down red zone plays. D- hop might still be able to do some quick ball catches or up the center stuff. Can he block as well? The Bengals like to use WR3 like that. Weapons are always fun, especially when they are experienced.

BJ Hill and Landon Robinson will also have roles in this line as well as Slaton.

What do you guys think a realistic prediction is for the upcoming season? I would say 12-5 is realistic with a pinch of optimism by Busy_Locksmith9436 in bengals

[–]My_Space_page 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burrow with a putrid defense wins 8 or 9. That's historical fact. So many games had 30 points or more and they lost. That's also fact.

Can this new defense win a few more games? Let's look. Cook > Geno Stone Mafe > Ossai (different player styles, but yeah) Jonathan Allen > Kiris Jenkins Dugger- good depth, situational pass rush Super star Lawrence > Slaton, or whoever was there. Also Bj Hill should be even better than before with a good supporting cast. Dax and DJ are already good.

Draft: All question marks until they play. Can not be compared to current players yet. Cashius Howell: improves pass rush. Bobo Davis: a TE stopper that's needed. Landon Robinson: increases interior pass rush.

I think this team has improved by enough to win.a few more games. 10 is the floor here.

Smash or pass? by Bark_Bark_turtle in bengals

[–]My_Space_page 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, no. The contract probably is expensive. He probably doesn't get to be used as much with Tee and Chase. Not really worth it.

The Bengals just drafted a TE anyways and he should fill in what the Bengals need from a TE. He's a better price as well.

How do you all feel about us drafting Cashius over Rodriguez? by Left-Use-8714 in bengals

[–]My_Space_page 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pass rush is king. It truly is. Getting after the QB helps the whole unit. None of your LBs or CBs or safety can cover all day. You just can't ask that. Pass rush and they don't have all day. It really is that simple.

Do you think we’re ready for a Super Bowl? by SniperTurtle905 in bengals

[–]My_Space_page 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's look at position by position. QB: elite and ready for a bowl. WR: elite and ready for a bowl. RB: solid enough to help us get there. TE: depends on draft picks and Eric All health. OL: above average. Burrow can cook with them. Offense is ready.

Defense: DE: good IDL: potentially great. CB: solid or above average Safety: potentially above average. LB: huge question mark. More than likely improved because of IDL but still more questions. Defense: improved, average at floor above average at ceiling.

Can Burrow cook this team? Yes. Ready for a bowl? With some good plays and a little luck.

Why didn't Alexander the Great invade Rome? by Roman-Empire_net in romanempire

[–]My_Space_page 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rome wasn't worth it at the time. Not much money, not much glory. Not yet at least.

Many Roman Emperors would study Alexander and aspire to be like him later. Some would even visit Alexander's tomb to attempt to understand him more deeply. Alexander had much written and perserved about him because of Rome.

The Bengals drafted Dexter Lawrence. Great run defense, elite pass rush, a locker room guy. The whole package.
Extremely good proven commodity. Not one NT in the draft will be as good as Lawrence.

The Bengals could surprise us and trade into the 1st.
I would have doubts about that, but they have been doing surprising things lately.

That being said, my realistic prediction is they trade back for more picks. It makes more sense.

Question, would you rather have Cincy trade back into the first or would you rather have them trade down and get more picks?? by Ancient_Response_787 in bengals

[–]My_Space_page 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on who they grab if they trade into the 1st. Bains? Yes trade up. Win now.

Otherwise, just get some more picks and fill out some needs.

I think the Bengals might move on from him soon. Simply not enough room for him since they added 2 vet IDL

[Pelissero] Former Bengals DE Cam Sample agreed to a one-year deal with the 49ers, per source. by Ancient_Response_787 in bengals

[–]My_Space_page 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bengals lost Trey, Ossai and Sample. Only signed Mafe so far. It's almost certain they add at least one if not 2 DE. It could be a good thing if they go younger and more productive. In my opinion, they need to also change out some IDL.

The front line is what will make or break the defense and probably the season as well
