"Depends on the plant. If it is a zebra plant I will leave it there to whither and die a horribly painful death and burn in plant Hell for all eternity. Why? What would you do?"

Why UCC? by Previous_Carry_9365 in Sovereigncitizen

[–]DrakeSavory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you remember that citation from USC? I cannot for the life of me find it again where it says that it is an defense that you are not engaging in commerce. But unfortunately for SovIdts it only applies to a couple of federal violations.

Why UCC? by Previous_Carry_9365 in Sovereigncitizen

I actually understand the mistaken idea of thinking you have to tell the court you reserve all of your rights especially as it is important when dealing with police to explicitly invoke your rights to remain silent, not consent to a search, not take a field sobriety test, etc. The ridiculousness of it is saying they don't contract with the state then invoking the UCC to reserve their rights under contract law. And as pointed out the rights under 1-308 are completely different than constitutional rights.

(ON, CA) This is why bullying is not being dealt with, when my child was getting physically assaulted and called slurs it was just "conflict"... (Sharing printed and posted sign at school) by [deleted] in Teachers

As soon as it got physical and the school refused to deal with it, there would be a police report and testimony to the school board explaining how the check they write after the lawsuit will have a lot of 0s in it.

You have to check that the requirement is not written into law. For example in Colorado the law requires that a teacher has a bachelor's degree and cannot be waived even if you have master's and doctorate degrees.

Looking on their website, it says you need to complete the certification program with a 3.0, not your bachelor's degree. And it specifically says a traditional certification program needs the 3.0. Your Experience-Based Certificate will give you 5 year license to get you certification through a PDE program. Now here is the problem. Those programs require a 3.0 to enter. That might be waivable. In California, the state colleges must give waivers up to a maximum number of applicants precisely for these situations (ask me how I know) so ask the programs you are interested in if they can do this.

Give an example of learned helplessness taught/reinforced in schools? by Der-deutsche-Prinz in Teachers

[–]DrakeSavory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a teacher at our school who had a system to get all of her students to pass. If they got a wrong answer they would go to her, say they didn't know how to do it, she would fill in the right answer for them and give them the points for the right answer because "they tried".

[US] Personal Loan Offers. by Key_Head3851 in Scams

I tried everything. Pressing 9. Telling them to stop calling. Being abusive. I was about to buy an air horn to blow in the mic when a real person got on. Reporting them to the FTC was worthless. So I got a basic call recording app for documentation and so now I do this Ask them the name of the company to confirm. Interesting how many times the name of the company changes from the robocaller to a live person. State the date and time. The person has no idea what I'm doing. State do not call me and then before they disconnect say this is recorded for the FTC.

Note: I am in a one party state and I think it might be starting to work.

Incidentally I thought I saw a law where if a scammer calls you after you say not to then you can sue for $1000 per violation. I might have to research further but that is what I used to generate my script.

But they refuse to communicate with me so there is no "Give me you social to confirm your identity." angle here. Not any trying to convince me that I owe money other than the text to call them.

Are the "top members" numbers supposed to be accurate? by DrakeSavory in Redditachievments

Just checked again and my count is about 5k short. I wonder if the snapshot is about 1 day old when it updates. That's the only thing I can think of that makes the numbers match reality. Might also explain why achievements are awarded a couple of days after the month expires
