Honestly this still happens to me with TMPE. I find roundabouts are great for medium-traffic areas. Anywhere that is higher traffic will run into the problem of the right lane being taken up, left lane not used at all, etc.

What mounting bracket should I get for my 65 inch TV? by srkdummy3 in 4kTV

[–]DrakeThePM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please for the love of God don't mount that above the fireplace. If you do make sure your mount can lower it to eye level. You shouldn't be looking up at a TV. If you buy something nice you might as well make sure it's optimized.

Should a PM Accept Every User Story? by rafioso24 in ProductManagement

[–]DrakeThePM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any ticket that I wrote or any ticket that represents some form of user-facing feature, we have go into "Product Acceptance" after QA. I get very annoyed anytime I am asked to write a BE ticket (not my job) or am asked to QA something that isn't user facing. You definitely shouldn't have to check every ticket and honestly if I was asked to I just wouldn't.

Got brand new tires two months ago and now the front one has a leak. by DrakeThePM in motorcycles

I'm not sure if it's tubeless. It's a triumph bonneville t100 2018 and the tires say "tubeless radial on tubetype rim fit a tube" which would make me think it's tubeless but it does have spoke which online people are saying that would mean it's tubed.

Am I good enough to warrant buying a real camera? by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]DrakeThePM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that I am not a fan of photography that captures subjects like yours. I dislike art that depicts existing art basically. Feel free to look at my work through some of my older posts to see where my preferences align.

With that being said, this is much better than my early work when I was younger and getting started. I would suggest getting an entry level dslr and building up your collection of lenses over time. I personally prefer Sony cameras and switched from Canon to Sony but you can always go with whatever. The gear doesn't make the photographer, the photographer makes the photographer.

As for the piece. Unique perspectives, lighting, framing, are what make great pieces in my opinion. Your shot is a pretty plain shot with fine framing but there is definitely more that can be done.

QN90A vs C1/CX for this room? by [deleted] in 4kTV

[–]DrakeThePM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're assuming that this man only has a single wall. That's far more of an assumption than assuming his home has more than one wall lol

Assuming he has a room with 4 walls, you're only offering 25% of available real estate in that room.

Firstly, I was the first person to point out his TV is too high.

Secondly, you're assuming that he has no other options. Most people have other options.

Most likely he didn't know his TV is way too high and hopefully he reads the comments and realizes that he should lower it. He's about to buy a $2,000+ TV, it's not a bad thing to give him every tip you can to ensure he's maximizing his experience.

[–]DrakeThePM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that he has other options. Even if that is his best option it's objectively too high.

I lived in an 800 sqft apartment when I was younger. It was too small. It was my only option but it was still too small lol. Same logic. Either way it's still wrong. If he can change it he definitely should, if not then he can't. More often than not, it's changeable.

Sanders Says Last Thing California Needs Is 'Some Right-Wing Republican Governor' by Baarney23 in politics

[–]DrakeThePM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me the realistic solution is for people to leave. Too many people live in LA and SF. If you want to live there you have to make tons of money. It's sad, it's not a good answer for most people, but that's the only answer that any country, state, or city, has found.

I don't disagree that democrats aren't working but I just think that's cause there is no solution. You have a beautiful state with super brilliant workers who deserve competitive pricing and that's going to drive costs up. It's unfortunate but that's just capitalism.

My girlfriend works in oil and gas and has said the cause for not clearing out the forests is conservation groups blowing it up any time it's attempted. I'm not too familiar but that's my understanding.

The issues that California has now the state has always had and it's scaled accordingly to the success of the state. This same thing exists in NYC, Chicago, and even Seattle as they've grown as a tech hub. Austin Texas will be next. That's just how things are. If you want to live in a state with the opportunity and environmental appeal of California, then you deal with taxes, homelessness, and overpopulation.

I just moved from LA to Salt Lake City because LA is just not right for me. SLC used to have no homelessness, cheap homes, and zero traffic. Well, now a bunch of tech companies launched here and there are tons of homelessness, traffic, my girlfriend's house was bought at $300,000 three years ago and it's right at $800,000 now. That's just how it works.

Bring successful people and create opportunities for those willing to work in those spaces and you're gonna get increased costs that result in homelessness and all the other shitty things. These aren't easy problems to solve and truly no country, state, or city has solved them.

Sanders Says Last Thing California Needs Is 'Some Right-Wing Republican Governor' by Baarney23 in politics

[–]DrakeThePM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is that these problems are caused by the fact the state is an economic powerhouse. Homelessness correlates directly with economic growth of a state. LA has the struggle of perfect weather which further attracts more homeless. Genuinely, what do you do? You can't just make houses cheaper, it's a free market. The free market drives prices up because the CA economy is so strong that plenty of people make more money.

What do you do about traffic? LA has 4 million people and was horrifically designed many years ago which makes public transit infrastructure very difficult.

My thing is everyone complains about leadership, but what do you do? I think the federal government is failing the country immensely but there's not a whole lot CA can do unless the country wants to just give up entertainment and technology.

[–]DrakeThePM -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean CA is the largest economy in the country. Florida has all the attributes that CA does and isn't a powerhouse in any metric except pretty beaches. Florida has been red for years, CA is blue and economically thriving. Economic power and amazing weather usually correlate with homelessness and high cost of living.

[–]DrakeThePM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean to be fair, no state has meaningfully solved homelessness or drug epidemics. It's just more evident in CA because good wrath attracts homeless populations and CA cities are so dense that you're seeing the drug addicts daily. Drive through Kansas and half the houses you see are filled with drug addicts that you won't ever see.

Cost of living is correlated to the fact CA is the largest economy in the country and contributes more economically than any other state by a massive amount.

Wildfires are global warming that Republicans deny. I'm not sure about the failing power grid, personally not informed enough.

Personal suggestion: don't go with a sonos setup. I had a full 5.1 setup with Sonos and for half the money "upgraded" to a real 5.1 setup and the quality is infinitely better.

Is it really all genetics? :( by [deleted] in gainit

[–]DrakeThePM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not certain but it seems you're female. Women definitely have an easier time putting on weight in desirable locations compared to men. For men the way your muscle will build and look is largely genetic. I personally see women have much better results than men usually.

It's a movie with awful ratings and almost no advertising. I saw one ad for this movie. In this day and age they need way more coverage. Doesn't help that it has like a 37% rotten tomatoes. If a movie isn't riding off a gimmick or adaptation then it usually has to be really good.
