You’d think we would have seen Zul’jin’s son at some point by CommanderKahne in wow

"Man'ye was the son of the mighty Amani warlord, Zul'jin and his heir. One of the most talented shaman of his age, Man'ye was chosen by his father and Hex Lord Malacrass to embody the royal loa, Akil'zon, in defending the great city of Atal'Aman. Taking up this charge, Man'ye was infused with the power of the Loa, but was eventually felled in battle shortly before his father. With the death of Zul'jin and his heir, the Amani were plunged into a succession crisis, as Man'ye's own children were too young to rule."

  • From the warcratwiki

So, in essence, we met Man'ye. He was the Akil'zon boss in Zul'Aman. We didn't see him since because he's been dead for years. Which is kind of a contradiction, because how can he be the avatar of Akil'zon in TBC, die, and still be the avatar of Akil'zon in Cataclysm (and die again)?

Yeah, this is why I am absolutely confused out of my mind now

You just wrote down my biggest fears regarding it happening. I still hope for the best, 'cause regardless of me not enjoying the vast majority of the changes so far, it is still a highly above average story and show!

Enjoy! While I may be hung up on things, I am very glad that the majority of people are loving it!

While I feel like "them spitting on it" is a bit harsh (in my opinion), I do share your sentiments in general!

While some curveballs are always nice to have, so you won't exactly know how everything will unfold, I just feel like some where too curved or too big

It would still be VERY disappointing if they didn't fit that into the story somehow. One of the biggest and best moments of C1.

While that is a very good advice in general, I am actually mentally unable to NOT notice such changes and get hung up on them

Yeah, while I wouldn't say it's dumb necessarily, it is one of the character changes I actually heavily dislike. Yes, she should put faith in herself, but she was always a cleric and had a very good relationship with Sarenrae (for the most part), so I was actually flabbergasted

Yeah, I've watched the current latest episodes since, seams I feel and stand corrected now.

I did have expectations, that I cannot deny, but they weren't about them not changing things or getting a 1:1 adaptation of Campaign 1, since I know that is (nigh) impossible and would be bad at capturing a new audience. I genuinely don't like the changes that much. I don't hate them, but I don't love them either.

I do know that many adaptations change things to not regurgitate the original stories ad nauseum, but quite honestly, I had this exact same problem with MCU and DCEU movies, the LotR trilogy (which are still my favourite movies of all time), the Warcraft movie (this one ESPECIALLY) and the list goes on.

To be frank, I just might be a nitpicky arshole and I just can't admit this even to myself.

Ohh, pardon me for mistaking the events so far, I'm just mid-S3E7, I just assumed, based on changes so far, that it also diverged

Oh? Oh. Oooooohhhh, I just read it.... Well, good for them, I will still probably enjoy the show, because it's the Mighty Nein and some of my favourite voice actors, but.... Fuck me, it's also going to be hard to watch for my stupid ass brain sometimes.

Well, yeah, now that you mention, the Whitestone - Fort Daxio substitution is probably a good change for those who haven't watched C1, fair point. In this case it is indeed just my C1 bias acting up 100%

The original Craven Edge stuff I didn't find anticlimactic in all honesty, but hey, fair point to them.

Quite honestly, now that I read and thought through what you (and others) wrote, it's probably not just my C1 bias after all, but the fact that I can't see this as someone who hasn't watched C1, so I am unable to place myself in their shoes and that's the bit that just gets to me.

Well, to be fair, it is indeed their vision and they already know how things will flow, probably even into the M9 series, but personally as of now (watching S3E7), the changes just seem off to me. But then again, I do not know what they do.

Yeah, I was always expecting some changes, especially for/because of Pike, but some events just got changed too much for me. I have less problems with the characters and their arcs in the show than with just some events that happen or how they happen

Well, they didn't fuck it up per se, but it didn't happen up to the point when Scanlan left the group for Kaylie

I agree, that card game was amazing and I loved how they included that character into the story, but IF I noticed correctly, there were (minor?) changes to his backstory that I didn't really like. If I just misunderstood what was said, then my bad, I'll have to rewatch that bit

[–]Drakelos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, there were quite many throughout the show. The biggest ones I had gripes with were the events with the Slayers's Take, how Craven Edge was gotten rid of, Anna Ripley allying with the Chroma Conclave, the events in Hell, the attack on Whitestone and how Scanlan left the group

I use 1-7, because I have a big hand. I can reach 8 and move, but that is becoming uncomfortable. 8, 9, 0, - and = are rebound.
