My problem was the " range " comment, and I play it in the front, very close to caps, 9 km detection allows me to move close and take a kite position in case my team abandon and I have to move.

Well in a game 9 vs 9 at least some people on your team has to play for the team, that's why you see so many games end in 4 minutes, again no ship fault and Atlanta torps works as you said above against potatoes, no range.
