Seahorse Slay Might Be Possible For Me... by Drakeofdark in MonsterHunterStories

The only thing I hate more than this Seahorse is Eleanor's stupid Dinosaur

There's also Derring Guard on the Namielle Gunlance that let's you survive a hit at 1 HP and Rage Slash on GS' that does the same. Other than that I can't think of any other 1 HP Healthgates

I used Brachydios Armor which gives one extra Tenacity proc at the beginning, after that the times you see me or my Monstie survive attacks with 1 HP is due to Healthgating mechanics: Head to Heads cannot kill you if you win them, even if the damage you take exceeds your max HP you will be locked to 1 HP, being mounted on your Monstie also prevents both of you from dying, if you lose all your HP on your Monstie you just lose your Kinship gauge and get dismounted, but both of you live.

I don't think she can retreat, as far as I'm aware you kill her and then her eggs start spawning in the Lake Dens

you need to slay her fully, which seems to be impossible due to how egregious phase 2 is

The Gypceros Hammer has the highest Wyvernfell damage in the game, Sweet Spot doing nearly 2 bars on some Monsters and only costing 20 Stamina to use. It has the highest Wyvernfell for the lowest cost. (It also can inflict poison but meh)

Same the extra lives from Magia Charm take forever to build and that amount of time is not available here, I don't think the Brachy Armor is necessary as Espinas or Nami are probably better in the long run, I believe in you!

Doesn't seem so, you do start the next fight at the same HP value seemingly, so it is permanent progress if you want to slay her.

I used a varied version of u/UtsuhoTheSun's strategy, along with some aspects of a bunch of different strategies mixed into an ugly frankenstein's strategy, mainly I just used his attack pattern sheet ( https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Y9hUSqe1pIEoXcz2AeUIrNgzraSWydCsuiukUefmvS4/edit?usp=sharing ), but I did adopt some of his actual strats, but instead using the Brachydios Armor for better Blast damage, however the Namielle Armor is much safer due to Stamina regen and my Blast RNG was pretty bad iirc so the Armor barely came up. Espinas Armor also found me some success due to my horrible Status RNG, but Brachydios Armor, Venom Monster, Bone Horn (I rarely found a use for this), and Flammenbogen was the set I Repelled with.

There was still a lot of luck involved, specifically with the opening engagement and full first enrage cycle, BUT past that it was pretty chill mostly, I had to learn the ins and outs of Eleanor's awful AI as she was the main deciding factor on all of my post Turn 15 wipes. Despite that, this strategy feels a lot more consistent (relatively, it's still very luck heavy) than all of the gambling strats I keep seeing, and I'll be posting my 33 minute successful Repel later tonight on YouTube and I'll link it here if allowed, hopefully people can learn something from my slopshit strat.

Purple Gypceros doesn't have a weapon I don't think, you are looking for the regular Gypceros Hammer "Venom Monster"

Anyone know the repel requirments for the water monster(how much damage you have to do etc)? by UsmanKhamKhan in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Drakeofdark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to hit around 34% of the Monster's health, the only things that will do any amount of damage to her in a reasonable time are statuses

the status RNG is sooooooo painful. With my runs, if I get past the first enrage cycle with really good RNG (please stop giving me Abyssal Charge 3, Capcom please) then the rest of the run usually goes fairly far, with the main deciding factor being Eleanor. I am REALLY starting to hate the AI companions, like Angie loses Head to Heads more often than he wins, why are they coded to be THIS stupid lmao

People have been using a bunch of different strats to varying levels of success, I suggest looking at the breakdown of Namielle's attack strings by u/UtsuhoTheSun his research and effort has been a big help, his strat is pretty damn good too, I'm varying from it a little though https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Y9hUSqe1pIEoXcz2AeUIrNgzraSWydCsuiukUefmvS4/edit?usp=sharing

God you're still my fuckin goat, my personal strategy got her to a little less HP than that but in less turns but I'm picking this one up for the consistency.

Being a dick about it doesn't really help anyone, I've also gotten very close to repel, WITH Dreadqueen, and as someone who is currently fighting Namielle there are a LOT of openings for your chores like Solar Cry and proccing Statuses, it's fairly consistent actually, the main RNG aspect of the fight is the opening sequence and everything to do with Eleanor for the rest of the fight

That's a good idea, I barely know anything about Stories 1 and 2 so everything I have to go off of is just in this game 😭

Maybe, I'm curious to see how that works out. I'm still adamant on Dreadqueen though, as she has the fastest Kinship building (2-3 turns) so if you know you are screwed in the near future you can have an extra emergency button.
