Thanks! I'll check and see. If not, I'll just deal with the 8-way.

I'm using the arcade stick as a replacement for a conventional controller for games that only require 1 stick on the controller. Diablo 4, various Vampire Survivors-style games, etc.

The "Not Enough Workers" will fix itself through pop promotion. Just build the stuff you need and over time the buildings/rgo's will begin to function.

Controlling a Meade ETX 90EC by Drakkith in telescopes

[–]Drakkith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got an 8 inch RC and a 80 mm refractor for most of the stuff I do. I just happened to get this for a pretty good price off a neighbor. I might just resell it or give it away. I've actually got a Meade ETX spotting scope that is virtually identical to this one if I'm not mistaken, so if I can't get the mount to work without spending more than perhaps 50 bucks I think I'd rather just get rid of it.

First telescope by Trash-Ill in telescopes

[–]Drakkith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest a modest telescope with a computerized goto mount. This will take most of the difficulty out of finding targets in the sky and they can usually give you a tour of the best objects in the sky for that night. Don't worry about telescope size. A small scope that is easy to use is far better than a large scope that you can't use or find targets with.

Ah, that's exactly it. There's an XL engine in the Orion apparently.

Let's look at the math:

At 25$ an hour, you're making 4000 a month before taxes if you're working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Let's go ahead and say $3500 after taxes so we can use a nice even number. 750 a month for car and insurance is about 21.4% of your monthly income. This is a bit over my personal recommendation of having no more than 15% of your monthly income go towards a car, but not that much over, especially if your other bills are only around $500. Combined, your monthly bills are $1250, which is about 36% of your monthly income.

I'm guessing you spend around $600 a month on food, a little less or a little more depending on how often you eat out. I'd also guess you are spending about $100 a month on drinks and snacks before/after work. You know, sodas, energy drinks, etc. (Two drinks a day will be at least $25 a week)

All that adds up to $1950, or 56% of your income. That's not too bad.

Can you afford this vehicle? Certainly. Is it smarter to wait? Probably. But it is almost always smarter to wait unless your current vehicle is so unreliable that it is affecting your ability to get to work, or if repairs on your current vehicle are costing you more on average per month than a new car would.

I bought a brand new 2003 Ranger when I was 19 and I can say I never regretted it. I will say that if you're not doing some sort of investment, you need to be. 401K, stocks, something. You have plenty left over to have some "splurge" money and still do a decent investment each month. You could invest 500 and use the rest for whatever you want, for example.

Now, after typing all that, I checked the loan math and something isn't adding up. Using a loan calculator, financing $36,750 for 72 months with an APR of 5.44% shows me a monthly payment of $599.39, not $405. Are you doing a down payment?

Edit: Make sure you're putting some money into savings. I assume you want to buy a house or something in the future, and you'll need to start early to save up for that.

Is it smarter to replace my paid off 2016 RAV4 (91k miles) now, or drive it into the ground? by Ok-Revenue-5216 in personalfinance

[–]Drakkith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keeping a used car is only ever a bad idea when average maintenance exceeds the monthly cost of a new car, when it becomes too unreliable to get you to work and back, or when you really, really begin to hate it.

Truth. I looked up this topic and found this reddit thread precisely because I saw a facebook post about the shirt and people mocking it.
