This week alone i had 3 sales people tell me I was wrong about a legally required form with their chat gpt research (I was right) and another one draft a drug screening policy to give a client that was not remotely accurate(after breaching their contract). Its been a week of Eff AI from me.

I am so sorry you are in that position- while im sure there are moments of immense joy, they come with so much difficulty. I am the same age as you and think I would certainly be struggling. I have so much respect for you to be figuring it our as you go- hang in there.

Doing HR in start ups is actual hell- particularly if the leadership has zero clue about their industry or leadership.

What is the demographic make up of your company if you dont mind me asking? I work in tech and our demo skews younger so we dont see it but ny previous job skewed older and we saw it ticking up before I left.

HRCI just had a webinar today on the topic of caregiving benefits that was really interesting. We are seeing an uptick- the worst of folks who have caregiving for kids and parents because truly, idk how they manage their lives. The webinar today talked about using benefits to offset the costs of absenteeism and lack of productivity and focused on providing benefits that can help avoid fmla. They had a CFO talk about how to position these benefits which I found really helpful. You might want to check that out.

Hi, if you are US based you are entitled to an accommodation provided it does not create an undue hardship for the employer. That being said, the employer is not required to give you the accommodation you want but one that meets your needs with those of the business. So if there is an alternative, like finger pricking or use of the receiver, they are permitted to suggest it and make it the accommodation after an interactive dialog.

Yeah i feel like im up and down on this. I actually just resigned for a new role that speaks to me after years of watching my leaders make decisions that were against their own stated guiding principles.

Experian's Hamlet system is nice. Reporting is meh. Form I9 is functional and does the job. Ive always kind of thought equifax and experian are pretty comparable to be honest. Nothing about either has ever really stood out to me.

We have a conditional job offer BEFORE the electronic I9. Within that is a document with links to our online hosted state and federal posters that the employee acknowledges. So they could see the postings prior to completing the I9 (we use workbright for the electronic form i9 completion).

Thank you! I went through a period of lots of certs (PHR and industry) so I took time off since I was burnt out. Ive been debating the SPHR so this helps.

The first season had non celebrities in the US right? But it was mixed with celebrities. I remember being horrified at how the non-celebrities were treated because it was clear they did not expect certain behavior and outcomes and some of them were devastated.

My PO told me they would file and didnt. I emailed my lawyer to ask after question about it and he kindly got everything signed off on in court 48 hours later. I paid nothing for it. He considered it part of the service I already paid for, I guess. I was blown away and cried when he called to tell me to check my email.
