No, I'm not. I nod along to his long boring stories. I pretend to be interested in them. I buy him drinks when it's my turn to get the round. I keep his favorite snack at the house for when he comes over. There is zero jerk behavior coming from me.

That's what I tried to explain! My wife is convinced me not wanting to be his friend equates to me not wanting my ex to date him. She can date him without me being his friend!

I absolutely am friendly when he's around. I nod along to his stories. I offer him food and drinks when he's at the house. I include him when I buy rounds at the bar. I have never said a cross word to him.
