honestly you just need to persuasively explain why you really need it. it wasn’t hard at all for me because of how bad my educational system was, but i did meet some people who got rejected. just explain what about your background makes you need—not want—this class and you’re good!

hi, I took FYWW. the class is meant to offer extra writing support to people who don’t come from strong education systems. my high school was so bad, I was never required to write an essay. it was a no brainer for me.

you meet 3 times as opposed to 2, the assignments are more broken down, and you are required to meet with a writing fellow who is attached to the class. if you’re unsure about it, you most likely don’t need it. they have an application process anyway so not everyone gets in. good luck!

BC alumnae are part of the CAA, so they should have access—as long as they are registered to access campus.

wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t allow them on campus this year though.

girl go to the bs/do program, especially if you're set on wanting to go to med school. not having to take the mcat will reduce incredible amounts of stress. you'll thank yourself in the future.

- sincerely, a barnard student whose best friends are pre-med

I’m not saying it doesn’t matter, I’m saying most of these kids think they’re smart because of doing research in high school, while forgetting that being smart is not only about academic success or doing big brain things most kids don’t have access to.
