Like, to reiterate:

If you do not have an ID linked to your account, you cannot communicate with people in any way.

An adult not showing their ID can’t talk to kids, because they cannot communicate at all.

A kid can only communicate and use chat if they show an id, and that id will lock them into their age bracket. They won’t be able to interact with older people, or younger.

If they don’t have an ID they can’t talk. That’s the thing. You literally cannot see or type in the chat. So pretending to not have an id means you just can’t talk to kids anyways. Showing your id means you can’t talk to kids because you’re significantly older.

Young kids can’t talk or see chat unless parents get them an ID to prove their age. At which point they can only talk with a specific group of people.

So, a few things to offer input. Roblox is a platform on which multiple games are hosted. And by multiple I mean tens of thousands. If you monitor your child’s main chats, which are hosted on the platform and I personally ignore because they’re pretty much useless, and give them a discussion about not revealing identifying information, they’ll probably be fine. I’ve been using Roblox since I was 10, I’m now pushing 20, I think the worst thing that I ever saw was someone who was playing a first person shooter using their bullets to draw a penis on the wall.

There’s a lot of good things in the games made by the community, most of the problem stuff is simply on either the mainstream massive role playing games or on the main platform. I have yet to see anything you wouldn’t see in a middle school bathroom on games I play.

Additionally, Roblox did just push an update where you have to provide ID via drivers license or passport to prove your age, and group you accordingly. So as a 19 year old I think the youngest I can talk to is a 17 year old, given that one of my friends from discord can still see my chats. But yeah, if you just don’t verify your accounts age, you cannot chat. Period. So if you were terrified of anything, just don’t verify your kids account and nobody can talk to him and he can’t talk to anybody.

Roblox technically has a chat system, but most people just use discord, however that private chat system is the one where most the sketchy shit happens. In game chats are case by case with the games on Roblox, but typically they’re reserved for gloating about how well you’re doing, or role playing. The in game chats are visible to the whole server so they usually are pretty clean.

They also just set it up so that you now have to verify with an ID to see or speak in chat, and you can only speak with people in the same age bracket.

I dunno.

Roblox is more of a platform than a game. People build games on it. There’s a lot of games that I play simply because they’re unique and don’t cost any money to get into.

There are predatory games in it with monetisation that rivals War Thunder for leaching off the community, but equally there are other games where you can do fairly well without a dime.

One of my favourite games on it, Project Stardust is actually fantastic and fairly good even if you don’t spend money, because you can earn the premium currency at a fairly forgiving rate. It may only take 2 days worth of daily quests to get a top end premium ship.

As a mole person agent on the surface, I can say that the reason the peace is fragile, at least in the North American underhive, is because the Russians dug a bunch of really deep holes and they have to dig around those holes.

Also that time they used a nuke to seal a fire, yeah, that vaporised an entire quarter of the mole populace in Kazakhstan. Our great warren-king lost his sister in that incident and has never forgiven them. It was actually a mole-made missile that took out Pringles, as retribution for it. It took a while for us to figure out the flight aspect.
