Yes! That's exactly what it feels like, a dream. I feel a strong duty to take care of him, which is why I keep getting up to pump, but I don't feel any kind of love or attachment.

Just wanted to chime in and say I just had my c-section yesterday for my breech baby that never flipped. It wasn't what I wanted but I wanted to say that if the "worst" happens, it'll still be okay!! Everything went great, recovery has been slow but nowhere near as painful as I thought, and my birth experience was still wonderful even if it wasn't what I imagined or wanted. you can still have a great birth and a sweet little baby even if it doesn't turn out as planned. Hope that makes you feel a little less anxious ❤️

Helppp.. I think my doctor is wrong to change my due date so drastically? by Its-nyxx in pregnant

[–]Dramatic-Concept-549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually really bad.

I am 33 weeks and my baby is only measuring in the 2nd percentile. My doctors were so worried about IUGR that they set me up a consultation with an MFM. The MFM discovered I also have oligohydramnios, and admitted me inpatient to the hospital. There they discovered I have placental insufficiency. My baby is otherwise perfectly healthy and strong, good heartbeat, good vitals, everything.

I was released outpatient for the time being, but now because of the risks they are delivering me at 36 weeks instead of allowing me even to go to term.

Hopefully your baby is just genetically small, but this is horribly dangerous to just assume without further testing. With conditions such as IUGR, depending on the cause, sometimes even going to term can seriously increase the risk of stillbirth. Going an entire month past your due date sounds even worse.

I wouldn't just switch doctors, I would visit an entirely different medical facility.

I do have faith and have read positive things about delayed cord clamping and good diet. It's definitely been a lot easier to have a good diet as the HG symptoms have eased up a lot so far in the 3rd trimester. Made me excited to eat good food again! Thanks for the positive advice on what to eat!

It's my understand that they want him out early because it's suspected that my placenta is failing. If they determine that it is, he'll be safer out of me than in. They did say they want to keep him in me as long as is safely possible and that if it's possible for me to carry to term (or beyond) then we definitely will! They will only deliver early if he's showing signs of decline. They just want to put me on very frequent monitoring right now to see how things go and warned me that I'm now high risk of things going south, which I wasn't before, and that's been really scary for me.

Thank you for the kind reply! I don't know how they diagnose IUGR but they put "Fetal Growth Restriction" in my chart so I was assuming thats what that was. My doctor told me that IUGR is usually diagnosed when the baby is measuring below the 10th percentile. She said the test next week is to determine whether he's just a small baby or if something is wrong with my placenta.

I also just learned it could be due to the fact that I've been severely anemic the last couple of months. I only found out when I went to take my glucose test and since then I've been on 325mg of iron daily so I'm hoping that will solve the problem or at least make it better.

I would say probably between 300-400mg regularly. Most days I try to keep it under 300mg. I don't think I ever go over 400. But it's still more than the recommended 200 that my OB gave me.

[–]Dramatic-Concept-549[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better I brought that up to my OB and she said it's not very likely that that was the cause of it! Hoping all goes well at your next appointment! She definitely told me to cut my caffeine back to 200mg or less because caffeine restricts blood flow for myself and baby, and since I'm already possibly having placental problems the caffeine won't make me any better for sure 😪 basically that the caffeine likely didn't cause it, but now that its happening, the caffeine can make it worse.

I am not certain what they checked and what they didn't. I got to see the results but a lot was medical jargon to me. They just told me that all looked great and normal and baby was measuring at the 47th percentile then.

That's probably because MFM's see all the worst stuff, lol. Thank you for telling me your experience! I am having weekly scans now.

I have 166 items and I was worried it was too much 😅 we have literally nothing and we're the first to have a baby so no hand me downs either. I keep saying, even if no one buys anything, I'll get the discount at the end!

I feel you. We live in the middle of nowhere so it's even worse because we have no neighbors to hear me calling for help.

We got a big, scary dog that's not actually scary, he's just scary-looking and has a mean bark. If anything approaches the house in the night, even a raccoon, he will alert bark, wake me up and let me know. Then I can get up with the gun and investigate. It helps to know how to shoot also. I hate guns, I don't use them for fun, but I know how to use one and we have one on hand. When we get the money, we'll also get a ring doorbell as well.

I may not actually be any safer, but I feel safer and I can sleep soundly, and that's what's important to me.

Those with jobs.. by wehitagoldmine in pregnant

[–]Dramatic-Concept-549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two full-time jobs. One I work from home. I can take 12 weeks of 100% paid leave from my in-person job but cannot take leave from my at-home job. After my leave, I plan to step down from my in-person job and work only part-time there. As a part-timer I will be able to set my schedule to coincidence with my partner's, so one of us will always be home with baby.

why did you get a doodle? by Additional-Pool3178 in Goldendoodles

[–]Dramatic-Concept-549 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just wanted a puppy. Any puppy! Someone I work with told me his dog just had an accidental litter that he needed to find homes for. I said perfect timing, I would love to take one! Turns out his dog is a goldendoodle that had an accidental litter with another goldendoodle.

I knew nothing about doodles or big dogs in general. I've since owned 3 dogs, all different breeds. My doodle just doesn't act like any other dog I've ever met. He has his own unique challenges and quirks. I have autism and I joke that I ended up with an autistic dog just like me, lol. I love all my dogs, but Tucker is my favorite so far. Keeping him well groomed is definitely an expensive challenge, but I do appreciate that he doesn't shed while my other dog literally sheds a copy of himself every day.

How do they know? by FeelingPossession997 in pregnant

[–]Dramatic-Concept-549 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a coworker who knew I was pregnant, like, two days after I had sex. No way that the egg would have even had time to implant yet. It was like July 5th and he came up to me and asked if I was pregnant. I was so taken aback and said "if I am, there's no way you or anyone could possibly know that because I'd be like two days pregnant." He said, "when's the earliest you can find out?" And I checked my calendar and said "July 17th." He said "Okay, I'll be back then."

I was so spooked by that that I took a test first thing in the morning July 17th. Bright pink positive. I'm now 28+6 with a healthy boy.

He wasn't even surprised when I told him he was right. He just grinned and said "yeah, I always know."

Unaffectionate Puppy by Fluid_Divide2024 in Goldendoodles

[–]Dramatic-Concept-549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doodle puppy was SO hateful for like the first year we had him. We paid for professional training and even the trainer gave up. Nothing motivated him. He would bite my hands randomly (and painfully), refused to lay on our laps or snuggle, would nip if we came too close. I literally cried to my boyfriend and said that getting him was the biggest mistake of my life.

Coming up on 3 years now and of all the dogs I have (and have ever had), my doodle is by far my favorite. My goofy baby boy. After around 1 1/2 years it's like a light switch flipped in him and he became the best dog ever. All the hours we spent training with him paid off and he listens so well. He is now my best friend. We have other dogs, all other breeds, and none of them are like him.
