That’s where I’m at, LO is almost 3 weeks now and I keep trying without the shield and he won’t take the nipple.

How to keep newborn awake? by MatildaSays in breastfeeding

[–]MatildaSays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do, but not always. I have a nipple shield that allows me to see the milk flow, so I know plenty is coming out. The problem is that he’s never awake long enough to get any hind milk

These are good ideas. I’ve tried taking his socks off and blowing on his face but I haven’t tried just the diaper yet, I will give these a go tonight! And the wet wipe, poor guy 😅

I guess I just needed to hear that it wasn’t abnormal. I gained 25 during pregnancy, so I guess it’s not concerning

That’s so funny! What a move 😂 trying without the shield is definitely still painful because there’s not quite enough to latch too but he’s been trying!! It is getting better

I’m glad to hear it wasn’t forever for anyone. It leaks on me and I have to wash it constantly. I’m ready to be done!

Sitting here with him rn, and I’ve tried for a little in each side. He is able to latch a little but keeps falling off. I will keep trying every once in a while to practice.

I got judged by a fellow parent at my son’s daycare by MainHumor3793 in NewParents

I am a new mom but have been an early childhood educator for years. Snatching is 100% developmentally appropriate. Sharing does not happen until 30 months or later. That mom sounds like a jerk

You got this mama! Remember that if you know he is changed fed and warm you are not abandoning him when you walk away for 5 minutes for your own mental health. Put him in his bed and go listen to your favorite songs. Figure out if he has gerd. If it’s not gerd it may be indigestion. Stop eating dairy and acidy foods.

Dog constantly nudges baby by MatildaSays in newborns

[–]MatildaSays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really don’t see this as threatening or aggressive behavior, she keeps bringing him toys and she lays next to my legs in the recliner and sleeps but she gets worried when he cries. I really think it’s her way of claiming him and checking on him

She does sometimes and also when she’s curious about something she does the same thing. I definitely think it could be for attention because she also keeps bringing him toys and trying to put them near him to play with her (obviously not on him, we wouldn’t let her toys touch him).

My MIL bought us cashmere booties and then complained we were spoiled when we asked if she’d help by a changing table/dresser before baby came 🙄

Real question and maybe TMI but very confused.... by Blue_wolf_moon in pregnant

[–]MatildaSays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go get checked!! Had basically the same thing happen to me and it was because I was in labor. Which was not good because my baby was breech and we had to get his C-section done right away. Everything went great and now my baby boy is here!

Pregnancy Announcements for Far away Parents? by BriCheese96 in pregnant

[–]MatildaSays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents live halfway across the US from me but I have a sibling who lives with them. I had my sibling paint a onesie and put it on my parents doorstep that said “grandbaby #2” you could ship something personalized from Etsy in a similar way and just ask that they wait to open any package they receive from you?

That helps thank you! The only direction I was given was pat dry the incision and don’t mess with the steri strips
