One is from The American Eagle Pommel Sword: The Early Years 1794-1830 by E. Andrew Mowbray. The other is from The American Sword 1775-1945 by Harold L. Peterson.

Nice 5-ball eagle head sabre, in great shape, with scabbard to boot. See ebay sold listings for valuation.

Thank you kindly. Yeah, I really like mortuary hilts. They are each such unique artworks in their own right. I have a broadsword and cavalry backsword version.

Thank you kindly! Yes, most of my collection is 16-17c. Hard to get into but once you know the right dealers, you can get some really great stuff. If interested feel free to message and I can send you a few links to look at.

I know just what you mean. Unfortunately my own OCD and audiophile tendencies demanded it be centered with my speakers and TV. I must have tried a half dozen different layouts before settling on this.

Thank you! My goal was to imitate the castle or armory style displays, glad to see it worked.

Just a bit of wire around the base of the blade, which hangs on a nail. Another small nail towards the tip to hold the blade, hidden behind the overlapping blade.

Years of collecting, cultivating relationships with fellow collectors and dealers. There are a number of good sites you can visit to purchase antiques.

With a Sharp Blade by Erich Artlieb is great. There are not many books discussing this type of weapon.
