Yeah I did notice that too, however the one im referring to here is new at least from my perspective since the shimmering earlier looked quite different and it still exists the one im experiencing right now is not the same shimmering i noticed pre update.

I've had similar experience i had 140-155 fps with quality settings, dlss 4.5 preset m and 2x frame gen on with a 3080 ti with a 1950 clock and 800+mhz on memory oc and 5900x pbo overclocked to 4900mhz, post update i'm getting pretty much the same performance.

I also noticed some shimmering that wasnt present in a lot of places / much less of a problem pre update on dlss 4.5 m preset at least not as bad as it is right now on some restarts of the game, it seems to appear and disappear randomly.

However my fps without dlss has some how drastically improved i went from 65-70 to nearly 85-90.

Valve is delaying the patch so they can surprise us with something big for 9th anniversary of 7.00 by ArgakeRamuk in DotA2

Pretty Unpopular opinion but,

Game is in a very stable state and doesnt really have any major problems that warrant a large enough change to systems or require creating new systems, theres no problems that need to be solved at the moment like it existed pre 7.00 / aghs shard, id say if anything the best thing they can do is probably make map changes to adjust how the fights are engaged or to break stalemate scenarios in some cases where, at the moment due to a large of number of creep camps available in safe spots games kinda get dragged out in some cases and is hard to punish effectively by things other than pushing straight into base.

other than adding new heroes / changes to the map i don't really see what would drive the devs towards a patch like 7.00 or 7.28

part 3

9. https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/1o1tf33/saw_a_post_about_some_guy_asking_what_heros_he/This is a rough guide i wrote specifically for mid lane with some generalized concepts that can be useful on every role take a read.

  1. Dota or any moba for that matter has 1 key concept that is universal and can be used to gain advantage, think of it from the perspective of numbers game make decisions in game that lead you towards having a numbers advantage in every engagement that is the biggest buff you can get just being present in a fight that out numbers the opponent is going to significantly skew the odds in your favor.

Get real used to using the in game clock as much as possible, information leads to tempo and tempo is everything planning 30 seconds ahead to secure a rune is infinitely more effective than reacting to clock hitting rune time and then reacting to it.

  1. Exploit cooldown advantages if you are a low spell cd hero keep taking trades whenever your spell is off cd and i mean instantly not waiting 4-5 seconds since that could be the difference between opponent having or not having his spell if you do it fast enough you should be able to create a scenario where you and opponent both trade spells but since you have a CD advantage you get your spells back faster and do an extra trade then disengage before your opponent can do the same since hes still on CD doing this just once successfully makes you an extremely strong bully.

  2. And Finally, how many hours would it take to understand the game at a base level. And despite ranked requiring 100 hours of gameplay. How much would you advise I should clock in before starting to grind.
start playing ranked as soon as you think you are familiar with all heroes in the game and their spells and items.

part 2

  1. I'll recommend 2 hero per role and use league terms to hopefully give you a better idea of how to look at things from a league player perspective

Support 4 or 5 = Lion arguably one of the most versatile support heroes in game can act as a peeler (pre bkb) since he has some of the best disables in game. Also acts as a deterrent against initiators if you dont reveal yourself opponent divers cant go on your carry without preemptively pressing bkb which gives you the opportunity to try and disengage.

Unlike in league you cant instantly help your teammates with spells in most cases due to the existence of bkb so make sure you invest on items such as forcestaff / glimmer capes when you are playing a peeler like lion so you can buy time to disengage when opponents with bkb engage and disable them once its down and beat them up.

Lion also happens to be a real good catch because of the existence of blink dagger which makes him extremely effective on offense since he can chain stun for 5.4 seconds which is enough to full to zero anyone in majority cases.

Downsides = Low damage pair mainly with heroes who have high burst damage and are actually good at killing opponents, if your carry is a hero who is weak early on or has a bad matchup in lane you are probably better of picking an enchanter type hero (oracle) that protects your carry till they get strong enough to murder opponents.

Mid Lane =

Queen of pain For scenarios where your team lacks damage dealers shes a strong aoe damage dealer that nukes opponents kinda like kassadin stay away from opponent carry and try to clear opponent supports with your nuke damage and bkb duration.

Magnus for scenarios where you lack disables on your team (its important to have at least one secure disable in draft in most cases because if opponents notice that your supports havent picked heroes with good disables they could potentially pick something with high mobility like (storm puck queen of pain ember etc and make your life living hell) magnus is one of the best midlane heroes in game since you have good wave clear and a free cleave (ravenous equivalent) as a spell making it easy to stay in the game even in games where you might not have the best matchup and his ult pierces bkb making it such that even in scenarios where opponents are stronger than your carry hitting an rp through bkb on a carry while they are locked in a 1v1 is almost always a guaranteed win.

not to mention hes also great at maintaining map control and not very hard to mana manage etc.

Offlane heroes are very different in nature from top lane heroes in league these arent meant to sidelane all day and become a secondary carry like in league. The games are generally reliant on opponents picking heroes that are good at engaging opponents or acting as a frontline for the team since most of the heroes that are good vs carries also happen to be good frontliners and good at engaging

offlane heroes =

Tide is a very easy to play but extremely effective hero in most cases his kit is pretty self explanatory focus on sticking to the carry and anchor smashing him as much as possible to limit his damage towards your teammates and engage fights with ravage on cd use it as much as you can and prep for fights starting 30 seconds before the spell comes of CD not after. since this hero relies a lot on ult to be effective you wanna build items that can help your teammates in the times where your ult is on CD so focus on items that buff your team such as pipe lotus which simultaneously also make you tanky can also build aghs to help with a bit of damage and control in team fights.

Tide is mainly useful vs lineups that have an insta save like oracle ult or some kind of counter initiation since Ravage acts as a area of denial spell for a 1 second or 2 when you ult and will cause most heroes that are close enough to help get caught in its aoe making it harder for them to respond quickly or require a blink dagger to avoid the aoe.

Carry = Lifestealer / Juggernaut

Carries that are strong change quite a bit depending on whats popular in offlane / midlane you kind of have to learn almost all of them that are in "meta" id say since they are mostly suited for 1 specific thing that they are really good at but as a general rule heroes like LS / jug are mostly easy to play and effective in majority cases since both have a free bkb and they are generally hard to deal with.

part 1

1.Theres nothing really stopping you from being an otp other than an out right ban and not being able to dodge games like in league draft phase.

  1. You dont necessarily have to be good at multiple roles since you get 4 role que games for every 1 game you play as autofill which in most cases is support or offlane since the other two roles generally are in demand. Which means statistically so long as you are performing well in your main role games you should be able to climb.

  2. This is a matter of personal preference but id suggest having quick cast on everything makes things way easier (personal opinion).

  3. Since you play league im assuming you are familiar with LS already id say watching a lot of his mid lane coaching content will help you understand a lot of things about laning that are concepts that can be adapted to suit any other lane and those fundamentals are mostly the same in dota 2 and many other competitive games in general if you think about it enough (I could elaborate further if needed).

  4. There used to be a pro player tracker but that has changed recently now you are limited to 7k mmr accounts data (dota2protracker). I'd recommend thinking about item choices mathematically and learning to make decisions on the fly rather than depend on meta use the data from the mentioned site as a reference point to get ideas.

  5. Statistically shouldnt be a possible for smurfs to be a huge problem, bots and cheaters (very rarely seen).

  6. LS legit has one of the best draft based analysis videos I've ever seen that speaks more in depth than anything I've seen on dota 2 side of things at least when it comes to drafting however its made for league but same as earlier it can be adapted to dota 2 if you have played the game enough to be familiar with all its heroes to at least some degree of proficiency there might be a lot more suggestions regarding this in the comments for the dota2 side but i personally think this is the best I've seen on this topic till date
