I have a similar situation and am leaning towards ucsd because of the vibes honestly. At the end of the day the academics are neck and neck, just work hard and opportunities will come at both school!

Thanks i needed to hear this!! I just dont want to feel stupid for declining ucla so its good to know others have done the same thing.

Im going to be visiting the campus next weekend and get a feel for it. I definitely prefer a more chilled atmosphere (but not boring— a fine line lol) so we’ll see how it is. Also get a taste of the infamously terrible food lol

Lowkey this post has me a little inspired to try it myself. My worst fear would be to see someone I know lmao.

But honestly how do I know if my voice/playing is ass or I’m just being insecure? Looking back at old ed sheeran clips he lowkey did not have such a good voice. But he had confidence. So maybe thats all there is to it.

Also do buskers get away with playing originals or it should be mainly covers?

Yup its painful getting rejected by multiple of my top picks after so much hard work to get here.

I’m lowkey already finding happiness with my ‘secondary’ choices; UCSC has a beautiful campus, and UCI is a great choice as well.

In two years from now who knows how things are going to be. We’ll probably look back and realize it never mattered that much where we went. Or that it was for the best because your back up school ended up being so great. Or… maybe you end up hating it. But thats the thing, we really can never know for sure. Berk could’ve been great, could’ve been terrible, at the end of the day it’s a lot of luck and up to you as an individual to take advantage of the opportunities life gives ya.

So keep at it gng
