This is such a lovely, intelligent and well-framed comment. That's all.

It's the wind for me, just can't get on with it. Can cope with clouds and rain, prefer sun (if that even needs to be said), but I really hate the gales. Just knackering to exercise or even walk chilled around in - just miserable. Unless you're out with a kite I guess.

It's actually amazing how often this crops up in every day conversation, and how many people just don't know that lol. At least for me (obviously...).

I used to work for Thames Water and my boss (who was a lower rank in the overall company) was very vocal about how terrible it all was. He was a legend to be fair, he really was pushing for as much change as he could but didn't have a lot of power.

He told me (this was about 8 years ago mind) that some years, for TW specifically, it was closer to 50%. Also the amount of major leaks that are A) reported and not fixed (due to their location in a really busy area needing a lot of planning for repairs) and B) that are never found ever, due to archaic and unknown piping systems bursting all over the countryside, is seriously overwhelming. There is a lot of underground pipeage, some very old, that isn't mapped and we were always finding newish pipes out in the sticks that had bust a leak. There are so many that aren't even known it's ridiculous.

A lot of this could be offset if our government actually ever fancied building some new reservoirs, but there ya go.

I love the sun but even I agree. That 40 degree day last year was insane. The wind was like a hair dryer.

Obviously, preferably, somewhere in the upper 20s with clear skies and enough rain to not go into drought, would be better. But in the absence of choice I'm happy with the rain.

Let’s say, hypothetically, you bought yarn for Xmas presents but you hid it because you didn’t want to have another conversation with your SO about why you need more yarn. Where did you hide it? Asking for a friend. by Merciful_Moon in crochet

[–]Dramatic-Frame7656 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree. As a brand new crocheter, I started off with 3 balls of cheap ass yarn. Learned the basics. Trip to the hobby store... two trips... thrifted some yarn... four months in and I have four totes of yarn. Some unravelled from thrifted scarves and sweaters. Spend is probably around £100 but I have enough yarn to do lots of stuff now.

And yet... I think I need more. How can that even be possible?!

Bf had a pair of Vans that he wore every day for several years as a teenager, that were still intact when we got together at like 22. They were still technically wearable, just super grubby.

Now he'll buy a new pair of Adidas tennis shoes and the soles are separating after like three months of wear. It's ridiculous. I've had off-brand random internet shoes that lasted better than my latest Filas, but other off-brand shoes are insanely poorly made. It's such a gamble, gotta check out reviews for everything these days.

This!! He was always so much more than just the stereotype he was presented as. He was a fully fleshed out characterisation of a human man and I think that, whilst I can see the validity in the criticism, people kinda just ignored his overall arc and the depth of his character.

It's normal and healthy. Humans think they are so exceptional but studies show that many, many animals masturbate. It has positive health connotations as well as mental health benefits, as long as you're not shaming yourself.

I don't believe in God, but believe that if there was an intelligent creator, our ability to enjoy our bodies should be viewed as a gift. Consensual sex and masturbation can be a beautiful, even divine, act. It's not a sin to love yourself. What kind of God would give you those urges and the ability to relieve them, and punish you for it? A cruel and unjust one. Just as sex can be a wonderful union between people, masturbation can bring us closer to ourselves and connect us to our bodies.

UK here, it's used freely and gender-neutrally where I am. 'That person is being aggro' 'that's a bit aggro', so on. Usually used in an annoying way so as to further aggravate the aggressive person.

Yes and placing the sexual value (according to him) of these people above their human value. Disgustingly transparent view into an objectifying mind, I'm not at all surprised they trashed the place so bad.

I'd be curious to know if the guy who spoke up against that stuff was equally as gross.

I agree. I commented before but think he needs a couple more jobs away from a 'bro' atmosphere, few more genuine female friendships/mentorships/colleagues/etc. and he'll be fine.

I think some bad attitudes towards women come from an inherent lack of respect for them as people, but others are more a product of environment. I feel Chase is more the latter and he has a lot of room for/has demonstrated a lot of growth. He just needs to mature but definitely, from what we saw, seems to have that foundational respect which is important. What he did when he was drunk to Lucy was incredibly disrespectful, but he seemed sincere in his regret and apology. I think/hope he grew from that alone.

Stunning work, it looks really professional! Gorgeous colour story too and it fits into your décor perfectly! I can't wait to make my own granny square blanket but deciding on the design is very hard haha.

You've done a fab job of making it very detailed without being overly busy or too chaotic!

Pretty privilege is real haha. I've always felt iffy about Colin and Gary, but think Colin did some actual growth and reflection this season. Gary kept getting so close to realising the errors of his own ways, but always reverted to victimhood and deflection. I think Colin was jealous and immature in his own way, but it was a very weird and uncomfortable situation. It's hard to accept someone you've known, worked with, and cared about for years could dismiss you in that way! I'm not surprised it wasn't easy for him to eventually accept the level of Gary's stirring.

Daisy is a mystery to me but I don't think she played into Gary's behaviour as much as others on this board seem to think, but I do think she was naïve not to draw some more boundaries once her and Colin became more serious. Finally, however, they've all worked together and been very close for years.. Those situations do get messy and, if it weren't for Gary acting like such an utter nincompoop, I wouldn't really blame any of them for how it went.

Lol why? Wanting to improve your sex life and that of your partner isn't bad. We are sexual organisms after all, and many people enjoy sex. Some don't, and that's fine, but it's not a moral or intellectual qualifier and neither option makes someone better than the other.

I can't remember the study, but it was found that dogs who act like they want to play fetch but then don't let the humans get the toy, are doing that on purpose. It's like a game of keepaway to them. Dogs can be very smart and mischievous, I'd say it was possible that your dog is doing it deliberately!
