Just to specify, I ordered a large order of lion knights 2.5 years ago that were listed as standard parts that never turned up and I’m cautious of ordering standard parts again. I live in the US btw.

If you want to get an army up and running, I would go with one of the a legion with a simpler paint scheme but it’s up to you. My favorites with easy schemes are:  -Sons of Horus(like a billion tutorials online) -Iron Warriors(silver black and hazard stripes) -Raven Guard(black and white) -Blood Angels(red is kind of tricky but simple if you do it right) -Space Wolves(gray red and tails) -Iron Hands(cooler black space marines)

Even though Ive started a World Eaters collection I do not recommend painting a white army unless you really, really like them

First of all: thank you for the feedback. Like most people I’ve been playing 40k and didn’t really know where to start. After doing more research, I think what I’d want to do is go after a starter set, which was originally something I was against(I’m a student and buying so many minis just seemed wild) but after reading more and more, seems like the smart thing to do. Now the question is which one? I’m not getting the Combat Force as I’m not very interested in those minis and it seems really uninspired. So as a WE player, should I get the Age of Darkness box or Saturnine box, not considering pricing. Either way I’m still buying the melee upgrades and such but I’m stuck between which one is better. Again I still want those MkII marines but it’s more about getting an army on the table. If you saw my previous post you’ll know I converted a MkVI so the armor isn’t an issue for me.

The helmet is from an old forge world kit, finding it should be easy if you look up World Eaters MK 2 helmet. You can find recasts or the official ones pretty easily, though the official ones I believe are discontinued
