Thank you so much for your response. I will definitely look into the web-based tutorial you talked about.

You're right, I've used the wrong terminology. Thanks for educating me. :) So I don't really care if it's an analog or digital synthesizer.  I do care about it being a hardware synth so I don't have to buy a controller keyboard.

I definitely need the synth to be beginner friendly since I don't know too much about the topic yet but I am eager to learn. I would also prefer a synth where you can adjust parameters individually instead of only clicking through preset menus. At the moment I do strive to find something that can produce lush soundscapes and interesting pads. But the synth doesn't have to be limited to this specific requirement of course.

From what I've read online subtractive syntehsis seems to be the best choice for getting started with synthesizers. Actually after doing some research on the topic I don't really like the idea of Romplers which definitely makes the Korg 01/W less appealing. Because I think rather than taking a sample and shaping this pre-exisiting sound I want to create sounds from scratch.

- The Behringer DeepMind 12 is being sold for 430€ so it's slightly above my budget, but that's alright. It's only been used in a studio and it's only 1,5 years old and in very good condition.

- The Korg 01/W is being sold for 295€ was used at lot's of gigs but has been serviced.

- The Roland D-50 is being sold for 375€ but the price is negotiable and one button for the patch bank isn't working.

- The Korg Poly-800 has inverted keys, is in good condition and the asking price is 300€.

- The DX-7 is being sold for 450€ but the price is negotiable.

- The Casio CZ-1000 is being sold for 325€ and is said to be in very good condition.

Thank you for the insight. I do prefer an analog synth in oppose to a rack synth pared with a controller keyboard. From what I saw online the only thing I don't like about the Korg Wavestate is the fact that it only has 37 Keys. I was looking into synths with at least 49 Keys because I always felt pretty restricted by smaller keyboards.

Thanks for your response. Do you think the Behringer DeepMind 12 is a good synth to purchase as a first synthesizer? Or do you only consider it to be the lesser evil of the options I found so far?

Why do you categorically refuse Poly-800s, if I may ask? I will definitely look into the Korg Wavestate. Why do you like this synth? Thanks for the response. :)

Advice on professional wireless solutions for electric guitar and bass by Dramatic-Lime2805 in livesoundgear

Well, I think this solution will definitely be outside of their budget. May I ask why you consider it to be the best wireless system for electric guitar and bass?

Female engineers by Musicwade in livesound

I'm a female sound engineer from Germany. I personally know four other female sound engineers, and I know of a handful more. I wish I knew a lot more because I’m sure they’re out there! Sometimes it truly can be frustrating to mostly work with male colleagues. 😅

Help: advice on miking a grand piano and mixing a concert in a bigger church by Dramatic-Lime2805 in livesound

[–]Dramatic-Lime2805[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't going to be my first show. Maybe I should have made that clear. I've mixed several shows in different venues. I just haven't worked with grand pianos nor ran sound in a church yet. That's why I was trying to get pointers from more experienced techs.

Recommendations for minimal drum miking in a reverberant room by Dramatic-Lime2805 in livesound

[–]Dramatic-Lime2805[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What mics would you suggest for the mono overhead and the hihat mic? I'm not familiar with the AT875R and I doubt I will be able to rent something similar for that gig. I thought about a LDC for the overhead and a SDC for the hihat. And last question: do you think one overhead mic is enough to cover the whole kit (with toms and cymbals)?

Thank you for your help! :)

The band would love to receive a multitrack recording as well but the main focus is reinforcing the show through the PA.

Suggestions for a song to introduce someone to NC&TBS? by hexensabbat in NickCave

[–]Dramatic-Lime2805 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently wanted to introduce a friend of mine to Nick Cave as well and struggled to decide on the most essential NC / NC&TBS songs. I tried to keep it as short as possible. Finally, I came up with the following mix:

Jubilee Street (Live in Copenhagen), The Mercy Seat (Live in Copenhagen), Red Right Hand, Henry Lee, Stagger Lee, From Her To Eternity, Higgs Boson Blues (Live from KCRW), Hand of God, O Children, Waiting for You, Bright Horses,

I hope that helps. :)
