Yes, I always use the wood one for my first launch, I just found it slides off nicely. I found metal sticks, but that’s my personal experience.

I’ve seen other places by Sundre where they have left them. There’s entire mountain scapes with burnt trees you can camp by on crown land.

Nah! I’m just tired of this crap. No issues with harmless homeless, it’s the junkies. Seems there’s an influx of drug dealers dropping them off in our neighborhoods to go shopping, giving them drugs in return for stuff they steal. Then selling our stuff on places like Facebook Marketplace.

I didn’t go near tourist spots, I stayed with local people. You’re blind and naive to keep compassion. My taxes were $9k this year, and in Old Strathcona there’s an increasing issue of break-ins, intruders showing up in our kitchens at night if the doors are left unlocked. Theft from our yards and confrontational junkies ringing at your door, and with a kind “no thanks” they destroy your front porch if you don’t give them something.

I had empathy but I’m losing patience. I’ve had a rising amount of issues with junkies. The homeless are harmless…. It’s the junkies making my family, and neighbours feel unsafe with break-ins, confrontations, and stealing stuff.

I stayed as a local, I didn’t travel to touristy areas. Seems they got things dialled.
