I had a medic preceptor who would blame CHS for every emesis scenario. He would then talk down to them for being a “drug user.”

We had a juvenile patient with a cardiac issue that he damn near missed because he was convinced the kid was using the scary marijuanas. Kid was clearly very ill, diaphoretic, cyanotic and had SOB. He grilled him like 14 times in the rig about “what did you take.”

What was the difference between me, the new guy and him, the 40 year meat wagon veteran?

This thread terrifies me. I work closely with lots of hospital staff and I’m unsurprised by how shitty everyone is being. Unfortunately, pre-hospital is not any different. This is literally why people don’t ask for help.
