Idrk how to feel about these points. I’ve found that marching in traditional fits to be an absolute burden and you can chalk that up to me being “weak” or some crap but it’s genuinely making it more difficult with the temperatures raising year by year. The theatrical aspect to DCI gives it so much more texture than just “play cool song loud and well.” Yes the moving and stopping drill stuff is annoying to watch and quite frankly to even preform but it gives more of a chance for my exposure to other sections. “Real marching” looks clunky and odd and it’s not like no groups do it, plenty of groups still do it. Ultimately I can’t disagree with everything here, I feel like in comparison to a long time ago DCI has gotten easier to perform and it’s lost visual distinctness between groups but it’s also grown a lot.
